I respectfully request a rehearing on this matter because the issue of wildfire risk has not been adequately evaluated or addressed. Anaheim Hills is
a high fire severity zone, and any decision that could potentially increase risk to residents deserves the most careful scrutiny.
While development and economic considerations are important, they must never outweigh the fundamental responsibility to protect public safety.
Elected officials are entrusted with maintaining a careful balance between growth and the quality of life and safety of the community. In this case,
many residents believe that balance has not been properly achieved.
There is also widespread concern regarding the accuracy and practicality of the proposed evacuation plan. In a fast-moving wildfire scenario,
evacuation routes in Anaheim Hills are already limited and heavily constrained. Many residents do not believe the current plan realistically reflects
the conditions that would occur during an actual emergency.
Given the potential consequences, it is essential that this issue be reviewed again with full transparency and careful consideration of the fire danger
and evacuation realities facing this community.
