Hello,
As a 60 year res ident of the city of Anaheim, I am writing to as k you to vote NO on the propos ed 447 unit apartment building at The Fes tival Center.
The Fes tival Center is in a Very High Fire Severity Zone.
The evacuation route is one road only. Santa Ana Canyon to get to the 91 via Weir or Imperial. TOTAL DISASTER
Anaheim contracted with Dudek (s ame company that did the s tudy for Shea Fes tival project) to conduct a Wildfire Evacuation Study. I actually attended the
community meeting that Dudek conducted.
To date, there has not been a releas e of res ults from that s tudy. Where is that information?
The city council voted agains t the SALT propos ed Deer Canyon development, citing the Very High Fire Severity Zone as well as s ignificant evacuation concerns .
Thos e conditions are the EXACT s ame for the Fes tival project. Therefore the Fes tival Project also requires a NO vote.
I do unders tand there has been s ignificant development in s ome of the other districts in our city. NONE of thos e developments are in a Very High Fire Severity Zone
like this project.
I urge that a different location be identified in Anaheim Dis trict 6 that is NOT subject to thes e extremely dangerous conditions and not allowing any development on
Santa Ana Canyon until infras tructure improvements (ie Fairmont overcros s ing) is completed.
PROTECTING LIVES OF RESIDENTS THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF ANAHEIM IS EVERY COUNCIL PERSONS RESPONSIBILITY.
IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH DISTRICT YOU REPRESENT.
WE ARE ALL ANAHEIM RESIDENTS.
Pleas e do right by the citizens of Anaheim and vote NO.
Thank you,
Betty Farns worth
