Jus t s ending in a mes s age of s upport for more lenient chicken ordinances in Anaheim, due to the economic downturn and the continued ris ing in grocery prices .
I think back to my grandma during WWII when the government encouraged all homes to rais e chickens for eggs and to rais e a victory garden. Mos t avid gardeners
(who rais e their own vegetables ) would view chickens as a
great addition to the garden.
Other communities like La Mirada allow up to 6 hens with only 10 ft between dwellings and a chicken coop. Of cours e roos ters are only allowed for larger lots .
