Good evening,
I am writing to you regarding the proposed Festival development proposal. It is not only di sappoi nti ng but shocking to think that
the safety of thousands of residents is not a priority to many of you. Having lived through most of the major fires in the Anaheim
Hills area and suffered the time delays to get to loved ones, I know first-hand this proposed development would be a death trap
for the residents closest to the area.
I purchased my first home in Anaheim Hills because it was a clean and safe area for me and my daughter. Now, wi th the already
increased traffic on Santa Ana Canyon between Imperial and Weir Canyon, the increase in car fumes, people runni ng li ghts and
taking 30-45 minutes just to get to the other end of town has destroyed the peace, beauty and safety of our area. I cannot begin
to think of the deaths and mayhem that would occur when the next fire occurs and there are 1000+ extra cars i n the area.
Thank you for clarifying the following:
What deliberation took place to address the concerns of resident? What was the process and what was the outcome to prove
that this was a good idea and residents could safely evacuate. On any given day at 5 pm., it currently takes 20-30 mi nutes to go
2.8 miles to Target, can't imagine if ther was a fire.
How can residents be assured that community safety was prioritized in the final outcome? Are the safety studies used, tested
evacuation routes and financial interests available and transparent for residents to access?
I am saddened to see Anaheim Hills become a community where profits are placed above residents' safety and well-bei ng. I
firmly request reconsideration around this project be made.
Thank you for your time,
Brenda Neel
