ATTN: Public Comment
I have reviewed the City of Anaheim’s City Council Agenda for March 24, 2026.
In your Agenda I s ee you plan on is s uing a Denial of the Reques t for Rehearing on the Approval of the Fes tival Project. In it I als o note a Reques t for Rehearing that
was s ubmitted to the City on March 10, 2026. Why would the City have listed this as an automatic “DENIAL” on the Agenda without having a public dis cus s ion?
What about the 800-page Appeal?
This project was not fully evaluated and s hould not have been approved in the first place without a full CEQA being finalized. This project, if built, will continue to
s everely under evaluate the es timates you believe are adequate for fire evacuation. The City has a duty to their citizen’s and the State of California to uphold and
follow the law and purs ue that cours e before approving ANY project.
The City s hould not be approving and s igning a project contract with any Developer BEFORE they have even met with their citizen’s that is s et for public dis cus s ion
prior to a vote. The Labor Union contract was dis cus s ed and s igned IN PRIVATE prior to the 3-3-2026 Project vote! You mis lead the citizens of the City of Anaheim
on 3-3-2026 into thinking their repres entatives were going to provide them with a fair and hones t evaluation prior to your voting on this project’s feas ibility.
I do not have a problem with res idential building in Anaheim Hills . BUT I DO FEEL THE CITIZENS OF ANAHEIM HILLS DESERVE RESPONSIBLE BUILDS. We do
not have the infras tructure to handle 1000 cars ! Anaheim Hills was built as a “Mas ter Planned Community”. When the next fire comes , s ome of us only have one,
maybe 2 ways out, to get out! ONE OF MY FAMILY’S ONLY WAY OUT IS DIRECTLY TOWARDS THE FIRE’S PREDICTED ROUTE WITH A 1000 MORE
PEOPLE!!!
You are putting a 4 s tory, 447-unit multi-family apartment complex s ite onto a
“dot-s ize” piece of land that currently s its on commercial land. There is no residential apartments or homes in this neighborhood comparable in s ize. The City needs
to open their eyes and look at the s urroundings and NOT JUST THE PIECE OF LAND!!! This effects EVERYONE is the area. We cannot breathe with the traffic as is .
It is not jus t outs ide traffic but will s oon develop DOUBLE THE INSIDE TRAFFIC!
There are other places within eas t Anaheim that are more appropriate that can accommodate this large type of s tructure. What about the vacant lots around La Palma
Avenue and Imperial Highway? There is a long s trip of land running from Imperial Highway to Lakeview Avenue. What about both s ides of the long-gone/torn down
old Kais er building (and the connecting abandoned parking lot directly acros s the street) on Lakeview Avenue?????? This is not right for our neighborhood! You will
s uffocate us if this gets built.
Firs t, I reques t you grant our reques t to reopen this Agenda item for the res idents of the Hills to discus s our concerns regarding this project bas ed on our Reques t
for Rehearing. Ans wer thos e concerns .
Second, I urge you to re-cons ider your previous approval of this build site and NOT APPROVE BUILDING on this s ite as pres ented by Shea Properties in building
this mons tros ity.
