Do not click links or open attachme nts unle ss you recognize the sender and are expecting the message. Dear Council Members and Mayor, I am writing today as a District 6 resident to express my support for the Festival project. I truly believe this project will benefit many young families, including my own daughter and grandson, who are trying to find a place of their own while still remaining in a safe and desirable part of Anaheim. Thi s project would provide opportuni ti es for families like hers to stay close to loved ones while continuing to live in a good area. I also want to say that I believe the City of Anaheim has done a great job taking care of i ts resi dents. I have confidence i n our city staff, first responders, and the employees who work hard every day to keep our community safe. Regarding fire concerns, those of us who live in the hills already understand that our area i s naturally more prone to fire danger than the flatlands. We chose to live here knowing that risk. I would also assume that, in the event of a fire, homes closest to the hillside would be evacuated first based on the direction of fire authorities. I trust our fi re professi onals to make those decisions and keep residents safe. Unfortunately, I feel that some of my neighbors in District 6 are becoming extreme in thei r opposition si mply because of increasing traffic but that traffic is from the neighboring county. I also believe we must think about the needs of the entire city — not just those who already have the privilege of living comfortably in the hills. This project is a good opportunity for Anaheim as a whole, not just for a select few. If the state eventually requires more housi ng in this area, it may bring even more density and the very types of housing that some residents say they are tryi ng to avoid. Supporting a thoughtful project now may be the better path for our city. Mayor, I say this respectfully: I am not sure why you are opposing this project when i t could be a real benefit to Anaheim residents. I hope your vote reflects what is best for the city as a whole, not just what i s politically conveni ent. The Festival project is an opportunity to support working families, young adults, and future generati ons who deserve the chance to live in Anaheim too — not just the elite. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Rosa Villacana District 6 Resident
