RESOLUTION NO. 73R- ~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FIN-
ANCING PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGm'JAY IMPROVEMENT
PROJECTS. (1974-1975)
~fflEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Canyon Rim Road from Serrano Avenue to 5900 feet west
of Serrano Avenue
Serrano Avenue from Canyon Rim Road to Hidden Canyon Road
Fairmont Boulevard from Santa Ana Canyon Road to Canyon
Rim Road
vlliEREAS, the aforementioned streets are imDortant
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest;
and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division
2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appro-
priate action, provide in the County Budget of the Special Road
Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1974-1975 a sum of money
for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities
of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial
Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests, and it
does hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from County funds,
the amounts set forth below, said amounts to be matched by funds
from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement
of the streets set forth herein and for the acquisition of
necessary rights-of-way; said improvements and acquisition of
rights-of-way and the specific amounts in connection with each
project are as set forth below:
$285,000. Canyon Rim Road from Serrano Avenue to 5900 feet
west of Serrano Avenue
Serrano Avenue from Canyon Rim Road to Hidden
Canyon Road

This project consists of constructing two new
s"treets, including right-of-\'lay acquisition and
engineering. Canyon Rim Road will be four travel
lanes. Serrano Avenue will be four travel lanes
with traffic signals at canyon Rim Road.

$112,000. Fairmont Boulevard from Santa Ana Canyon Road to
Canyon Rim Road.

This project consists of the acquisition of right
of way for a new street of four travel lanes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Suoervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
works and acquisition of rights-of-way as set forth above are
in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that the
City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of
the cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be available for
the Fiscal Year 1974-1975.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to forward a certified
copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange
County, California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor
and Road Commissioner at 400 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana,
California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
