1974-089A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM SUPERSEDING PORTIONS OF RESOLUTION NO. 73R -50 AMENDING RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR EVENT EMPLOYMENT AT THE ANAHEIM CONVENTION CENTER. WHEREAS, the Personnel Director has met with and discussed wages and other working conditions for certain classifications of employees with representatives of the Service and Hospital Employees Union, Local 399, regarding adjustments of such classification represented by said Union; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and Personnel Director have recommended to the City Council wages and other working conditions for classifications as set forth below. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the compensation plan for the classifications of employment listed below shall be allocated compensation rates as follows CROWD CONTROL EMPLOYEES CONVENTION CENTER CLASSIFICATION Usher Director Usher Captain Ticket Taker Gate Captain Head Usher Ticket Seller (G.A.) Any pay for more than the minimum shall be compensated in fifteen (15) minute increments. For the events where the four -hour minimum rates are applicable for crowd control employees, they shall be paid such four -hour minimum rate for each separate event which they work in any day. On New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, employees working in the above classifications shall receive a minimum guarantee equal to the equivalent of ONE (1) HOURS PAY in addition to the minimums specified above. In case of cancellation of event, and if Anaheim does not give reasonable notice, either personally or through public communications, ANAHEIM will pay to crowd control employees as follows: TWO (2) HOURS' PAY if the employee reports for work; and FOUR (4) HOURS' PAY if the gates are open (as to OTHER TYPE EMPLOYEES CONVENTION CENTER, see Section below). Janitorial -type functions or services rendered in all other areas shall be performed by Cleaner Set -up Men, Porters, and Maids and they shall be paid at the appli- cable rate for their respective classifications. In the event ANAHEIM assigns Cleaner Set -up Men, Porters or Maids to perform janitorial -type work in the same specific office locations, employees so assigned shall be paid the "Part -time Janitor" rate of pay for each hour or quarterly fraction thereof that they perform work in these specific locations. If leadmen are used by ANAHEIM in any of the above hourly classifications, they shall receive an additional TWENTY -FIVE CENTS (25c) per hour. In case of cancellation of an event and if ANAHEIM does not give reason- able notice, either personally or through public communications, the above classification employees will receive TWO (2) HOURS' PAY if the employee reports for work and FOUR (4) HOURS' PAY if the gates are open. Cleaner Set -up Men shall receive a minimum of FOUR (4) HOURS' PAY. All hourly employees in any classification listed in above Section shall receive TIME AND ONE -HALF for work in such hourly classification in excess of EIGHT (8) HOURS in any ONE (1) DAY or FORTY (40) HOURS in any ONE WEEK. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Director is authorized, where there are express authorizations signed by each employee covered, to submit to the Union Trust Fund a list of all event -time employees who have worked at the Anaheim Convention Center during the preceding month. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED for employees listed under Group "A" of Other Type Employees- Convention Center, the Finance Director is authorized to submit to the Trust Fund a list of employees who have signed said express authorizations and who have worked and /or been paid for the equivalent of eighty (80) hours or more during the preceding month and to transmit to the Trust Fund the sum of TWENTY DOLLARS ($20.00) for each listed employee. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution shall be February 18, 1974, on condition that the repre- sentatives of the Service and Hospital Employees Union, Local 399 concur in writing with the recommendations of the City Management Representative which were proposed prior to February 26, 1974, to the City Council as they relate to the terms and conditions of employment. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that such concurrence must take place on or before March 12, 1974, after which time if representatives of the Service and Hospital Employees Union, Local 299 have not con- curred with the City Management Representative's recommendations this resolution as it applies to the classifications represented by the Service and Hospital Employees Union, Local 399 shall be treated as if it was never adopted. day of ATTEST: THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me this 26th February 1974.
