CALL TO ORDER — The agenda having been posted on February 5, 2026, the regular meeting of the
Anaheim Public Library Board of Trustees was called to order by Chair Linda Newby at 4:32 p.m.
PRESENT: Rose Chen, Jackie Filbeck, Linda Newby, Elia Renteria-Garcia, Amanda Wortman

I. INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND COMMUNICATION FROM OTHERS:
A. FRIENDS OF THE ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY REPORT: The January book sale
made over $557.00. They are looking for donations of books, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, costume
jewelry, children's toys, and more for their next sale on February 20, 2026. The Friends
applied for a grant from Lowe's to help with the cost of renovating a space at the Central
Library for a new Book Nook. They are looking forward to attending the Anaheim Public
Library's Mystery Authors Luncheon in April.
B. FRIENDS OF THE CANYON HILLS LIBRARY: None.
C. ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION REPORT: None.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 12, 2026, MEETING: The minutes were
approved as presented.
III. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.
IV. NEW BUSINESS:
A. FIVE-YEAR REVIEW OF APT, STEAM KITS: Linda Lomeli presented information on
the STEAM on the Go Kits that are available for checkout. The kits were started with
California State Library Grant funds; additional kits and their maintenance are funded by
the Anaheim Public Library Foundation, Friends of Anaheim Public Library, Friends of
Canyon Hills Library, Kiwanis of Greater Anaheim, and more.
B. LIBRARY BOARD AD IN ANAHEIM PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION MYSTERY
AUTHOR'S LUNCHEON PROGRAM: The Library Board Members will sponsor the
inside front cover of the program.
V. INFORMATION
A. CITY LIBRARIAN'S REPORT:
• A thank you card to the Mobile STEAM Van from a Project Access site was shared.
• Thomas Edelblute was recognized at the Rotary Club of Anaheim meeting for being
recognized by Who's Who in America.

VI. ACTIVITY REPORTS
A. STATISTIC SANFOGRAPHIC S/ACTIVITY REPORTS: None.
VII. BOARD ITEMS
MEMBER AMANDA WORTMAN: Is impressed with the selection of programming at all of the
APL locations. She is excited to attend the Horror Book Club at Asylum Brewing.
MEMBER ELIA RENTERIA-GARICA: Looks forward to checking out the STEAM Kits for the
foreign exchange students she is hosting.
MEMBER JACKIE FILBECK: Attended the KPOP program at Central Library and was amazed at
the attendance and was impressed with the entertainment provided by local groups.
MEMBER ROSE CHEN: Is excited to check out the STEAM Kits for her grandchildren.
CHAIR LINDA NEWBY: Is hosting a friend from Ukraine and they will be collecting books and
donating some to the Library.

A. NEXT MEETING: The next meeting will be March 9, 2026, at the Central Library.
