1975-676A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM CONDEVIRNING THE RESOLUTION OF THE
UNITED NATIONS FALSELY ACCUSING ZIONISM AS
BEING RACIST AND URGING THAT THE UNITED
NATIONS RESCIND THIS RESOLUTION.
WHEREAS, on November 10, 1975, a day that shall live
in infamy, the United Nations, by Resolution, falsely accused
Zionism as being racist; and
WHEREAS, such baseless, cowardly, and,hypocritical
action violates all principles of human decency; and
WHEREAS, six million Jews were brutally exterminated
whilp the world -stood by-cynical,,impoterit and calloused; and
WHEREAS, Zionism is the political movement of the Jew-
ish people to return to their.homeland, Israel; and
WHEREAS, many nations who voted for this Resolution
have engaged in,.genoci4e and the imprisonment -of political pri-
soners by the thousands and millions; and
WHEREAS, such Resolution is a mask for anti-Semitism,
a scourge that is in its essence anti-Christian and anti-human;
and
WHEREAS, the Jewish people have been in the forefront
of the fight for human freedom and dignity, both irk the,United
Nations and throughout the world; and

HEREAS, the State.ofIsrael is - one of the few remain-
ing democracies on the face of this earth that is truly demo-
cratic and protective of all its peoples' religious, racial and
human rights.
NOW, THEREFOR,, _BF IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim hereby condemns this pernicious Resolu-
tion of the United Nations falsely accusing Zionism as being
racist and urges that the United Nations rescind this Resolution
and directs that this Resolution be forwarded to the United
Nations, to the State Department, to the State Capitol, and to
other Cities in California, urging similar action.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by
me this 30th day of December, 1975.
