A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL J-1 OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AND FILE A BICYCLE, PEDESTRIAN
FACILITIES CLAIM APPLICATION PURSUANT TO
S.B. 821 WITH THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS FOR FUNDING OF
BICYCLE TRAILS IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, in 1973, th& California State
Legislature amended the Transportation Development Act
(S.B. 325) by passage of S.B. 821 which provides that 2%
of each County's total Local Transportation Fund be set
aside annually and be made available to the cities and
counties for facilities provided for the exclusive use
by pedestrians and bicycles; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Environmental
Management Agency FAU Technical Review Committee has
submitted a Preliminary Project Proposal Application and
Bicycle, Pedestrian Facility Claim - S.B. 821 form to the
City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City.of Anaheim has planned a
bikeway system in conformance with specifications of the
California Highway Design Manual and the Regional Transpor-
tation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to construct
the master bikeway system within the City of Anaheim
utilizing the funds available under S.B. 821; and
WHEREAS., said Preliminary Project Proposal
Application and Bicycle, Pedestrian Facility Claim -
S.B. 821 has been prepared and reviewed by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim and the City Council desires and is
willing to participate in the proposed project for the
construction of bicycle facility improvements in the City
of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim
desires to authorize the City Manager of the City of Anaheim
to execute and file said Bicycle, Pedestrian Facilities
Claim - S.B. 821 with the Southern California Association
of Governments Transportation 'Planning Agency in order to
request S.B. 821 facility funds for said project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City
Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby express its
desire and willingness toparticipatein the proposed
project for the construction of bicycle facility improve-
ments pursuant to S.B. 821 and the Southern California
Association of Government's procedure as submitted to the
City by the Orange County Environmental Management Agency.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Anaheim does hereby adopt the Bikeway
System in conformance with the specifications of the
California Highway Design Manual and the Regional
Transportation Plan.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager
of the City of Anaheim be, and he is hereby authorized to
execute and file on behalf of the City of Anaheim a
Bicycle, Pedestrian Facility Claim - S.B. 821 with the
Southern California Association of Governments
Environmental Management Agency to apply for all funds
available to the City of Anaheim allocated for Bikeways
and Pedestrian facilities (S,.B. 821).
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed
by me this 18th day of 1976.
