A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
(1977-1978)
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve
the following streets:
Orangewood Avenue - Ninth Street to Euclid Street
Nohl Ranch Road - Anaheim Hills Road to Nohl Canyon Road
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County
interest; and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9,
Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a
County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it
out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any
City in the improvement, construction or repair of a street
within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by
appropriate action, provide in the County of the Special
Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1977-1978 a sum
of money for the improvement of streets within the incorpor-
ated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange
County Arterial Highway Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim requests,
and it does hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Orange to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from
County funds, the amounts set forth below, said amounts to
be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said
City in the improvement of the streets set forth herein and
for the acquisition of necessary rights-of-way; said improve-
ments and acquisition of rights-of-way and the specific
amounts in connection with each project are as set forth
below:
$252,000. Orangewood Avenue - Ninth Street to Euclid
Street
This project is submitted as the second
stage of A.H.F.P. No. 859, a right-of-way
acquisition project in the 1976-1977
Fiscal Year. The scope of this project
is to resurface and/or reconstruct the
existing roadway, widen the existing road-
way to provide a minimum of four travel
lanes, and construct a master planned
storm drain and traffic signal modification.

$508,000. Nohl Ranch Road - Anaheim Hills Road to
Nohl Canyon Road.
The scope of this project is to acquire
right-of-way and to resurface and widen
the existing roadway as necessary to provide
a minimum of four travel lanes. Also
included is the construction of ultimate
curb, gutter and sidewalk fronting the
existing park site east of Imperial Highway
and traffic signals.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said
works and acquisition of rights-of-way as set forth above
are in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that
the City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the
Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees
that its share of the cost of improvements and rights-of-way
will be available for the Fiscal Year 1977-1978.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk
be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to forward
a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors
of Orange County, California, and a certified copy to the
County Surveyor and Road Commissioner at 400 Civic Center
Drive West, Santa Ana, California.
