A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF A?AHEIw APPROVING THE TERNS AND
CONDITIONS OF AN AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY IN CONNECTION
WTI -I INTEGRATED OPERATIONS AHD AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE UTILITIES DIRECTOR TO
EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company
"Edison is a utility engaged in the business of generat-
ing and transmitting electric energy in the States of Arizona,
California, Nevada and New Mexico, and is further engaged in
the business of distributing such energy in California; and
WHEREAS, Edison owns and operates a system of
generation, transmission and distribution facilities which
is presently directly interconnected, pursuant to interconnec-
tion agreements, with Los Angeles Department of Water and
Power, Arizona Public Service Company, City of Pasadena,
Pacific Gas and Electric Company, San Diego Gas Electric
Company, Imperial Irrigation District, United States Bureau of
Reclamation (Lower Colorado Region), Nevada. Power Company,
Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District,
Sierra Pacific Power Company, Tucson Gas Electric Company,
El Paso Electric Company, and Public Service Company of New
Mexico; and
WHEREAS, Edison also has contractual arrangements
with Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and
the State of California Department of Water Resources for the
purchase and sale of capacity and energy; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim "City owns and
operates a utility which presently purchases from Edison
electric capacity and energy, for resale and for its own use,
under resale rates filed by Edison with the Commission, and
City also purchases energy from Nevada Power Company in the
State of Nevada which is transmitted to City by Edison; and
WHEREAS, City owns and operates a system of trans-
mission and distribution facilities; and
WHEREAS, City desires to engage in the business of
contracting for, or owning, constructing, operating and
maintaining its own power supply and transmission system; and

WHEREAS, Edison and the Cities of Anaheim, Banning
and Riverside, entered into the Settlement Agreement on
August 4, 1972; and
WHEREAS, in order to better meet the power require-
ments of the City and Edison and obtain operational economies
on their respective systems, the City and Edison desire to
integrate their present and future resources, and have
negotiated and prepared an agreement pursuant to the said
Settlement Agreement for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, among other things, said Agreement is
intended to provide for Edison to furnish the capacity and
energy necessary to meet City's load, to the extent not
provided by City integrated resources; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of said Agreement
are acceptable to the City Council of the City of Anaheim.
HOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the terms and
conditions of said Agreement are hereby approved and accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Utilities Director
of the City of Anaheim is authorized and directed to execute
said Agreement on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 25th d y of
October 1977.
