90-016 RESOLUTION NO. 90R-16
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL
HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM CERTAIN HIGHWAY
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS (1990-1991).
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to improve the
following streets:
Harbor Boulevard - Katella Avenue to Orangewood Avenue
Katella Avenue Lewis Street to State College Boulevard
Katella Avenue and State College Boulevard intersection; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned streets are important
arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest;
and
WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvements,
construction or repair of a street within a City; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends, by appropriate
action, to provide in the County of the Special Road Improvement
Fund for the Fiscal Year 1990-1991 a sum of money for the
improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the
County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
Financing Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim, that the City of Anaheim requests, and it does
hereby request, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange
to allocate to the City of Anaheim, from County funds, the amounts
set forth below, said amounts to be matched by funds from said
City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of the
streets set forth herein and the specific amounts in connection
with each project are as set forth below:
$221,000.00 Harbor Boulevard - Katella Avenue to
Orangewood Avenue
This is a project to rehabilitate and
overlay the street.
$568,000.00 Katella Avenue - Lewis Street to State
College Boulevard
This is a street reconstruction project.
The proposed work will include an
extension of the Spinnaker storm drain as
part of the master plan for drainage.
$566,000.00 Katella Avenue and State College Boulevard
intersection
This is a construction project. The
proposed work will widen the intersection
to the critical intersection standard to
improve traffic conditions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said works
as set forth above are in the general County interest.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that by this resolution that the
City of Anaheim agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial
Highway Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of
the cost of improvements and rights-of-way will be available for
the Fiscal Year 1990-1991.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and
she is hereby, authorized and directed to forward a certified copy
of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County,
California, and a certified copy to the County Surveyor and Road
Commissioner at 400 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Aria, California.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 9th day of January ,
