A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
"'°`~ CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
BET6dEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIl~4 AND THE ANAHEIM
FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
tdHEREAS, on August 21, 1984 the City Council approved Resolution
84R-321 adopting a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Anaheim and
the Anaheim Firefighters Association, and
WHEREAS, the City Management Representative and Fire Chief have met
and conferred with representatives of the Anaheim Firefighters Association on
the su'~ject of manning in the Anaheim Fire Department; and
taIiEREAS, as a result thereof, a Letter of Understanding, dated May
23, 1985, delineates the agreement reached on the subject of manning in the
Anaheim Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that
approval of said Letter of Understanding is in the best interests of the City
of Anaheim.
NOt7, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of The City cf
Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated May 23, 1985 between the amity
of Anaheim and the Anaheim Firefighters Association is hereby approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 11th day of June 1985.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AND
THE ANAHEIM FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION
This Letter of Understanding is entered. into to reflect the agreement
reached between the City of Anaheim (hereafter ANAHEIM) and the Anaheim
Firefighters Association (hereafter AEA) on the subject of manning in the
Anaheim Fire Department.
This letter reflects an agreement reached by ANAHEIT9 and the AFA in a
spirit of cooperation and teamwork..
].. ANAHEIPA and AFA agree to an assignment of three (3) Captains, three
(3) Engineers, and six (61 Firefighters consisting of regular
full-time personnel per each Fire Company. As an example, 15 units
would include 45 Captains, 45 Engineers, and 90 Firefighters.
2. ANAHEIM and AFA agree to the same staffing for any new companies
created during the term of this Agreement.
3. Effective June 1, 1985 additional personnel. will be hired by ANAHEIM
to accommodate staffing of Engine #10 to the above level.
4. Effective June 1, 1985 additional personnel will be hired by ANAHEIM
to accommodate staffing of Truck #3 to the above level.
5. Effective on or about July 1, 1986 additional personnel will be
hired. by ANAHEIM to accommodate the staffing of Truck #10 to the
above level.
6. ANAHEIM agrees this policy will remain in effect until June 30, 1.990.
