A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLU]ION NO. 63R-910 AS
AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 75R-565 RELATING TO
PERSONNEL RULE 5, HOURS OF WORK AND PAY DAY.
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a
staff report dated April 6, 1982 that certain ~hanges be made to Personnel
Rule 5, Hours of Work and Pay Day, and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to amend
Resolution No. 63R-910 amended by Resolution N@. 75R-565, which establishes
Personnel Rule 5, Hours of Work and Pay Day, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that
the recommended change to Personnel Rule 5, Ho~rs of Work and Pay Day, is
in the best interests of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that Resolution No. 63R-910 as amen&ed by Resolution No. 75R-565
be amended to read as follows:
RULE 5. HOURS OF WORK AND PAY DAY
Section 5.0 The average regular work week for employees in the classified
service, with the exception of certain designated personnel in the Fire
Department, shall be forty (40) hours.
5.01 For all employees with an average regular work week of
forty (40) hours, the monthly rate shall be the hourly
rate times 2,080 divided by 12.
Section 5.1 The regular work schedule for certain designated personnel in
the Fire Department shall be eight (8) twenty-four hour shifts in a twenty-
four day cycle. The average work week of such designated personnel shall
be defined as a fifty-six (56) hour work week.
5.11 For employees with an average work week of fifty-six (56)
hours the monthly rate shall be the hourly rate times 2,912
divided by 12.
Section 5.2 Regular salaries and compensation of all City employees shall
be paid on a bi-week1y basis through either the regular payroll system
which provides compensation to regular full-time and part-time City
employees, or the event payroll system which provides compensation to
part-time casual/event employees.

5.21 Department heads shall furnish the Finance Department with
payroll and attendance records of their various department,
duly certified for payment and apprbved by them as to the
employees in their respective departments, the day after the
close of the payroll period.
5.22 Prior to the issuance of any payroll checks, the payroll
register shall be audited for compliance with applicable
City personnel rules and regulations.

5.221 The payroll register of the regular payroll system shall
be audited by the Human Resoutces Director for compliance
with applicable City personnel rules and regulations. Any
unauthorized payment appearing on the payroll register
shall be withheld by order of the Human Resources Director.
5.222 The payroll register for the event payroll system shall be
audited by Department Heads w!th employees paid through the
event payroll system for compliance with applicable City
personnel rules and regulatio~s. Any unauthorized payment
appearing on the payroll register shall be withheld by order
of that Department Head.
5.23 The Finance Director shall issue payroll checks for the payment of
authorized salaries and compensation.
5.24 Payrolls, duly certified as aforesaid, shall be presented to the
City Council for ratification and approval at the first or any
regular meeting of the City Council succeeding the delivery of
such payroll checks.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution
shall be April 13, 1982.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except as amended, Resolution No. 63R-
910 shall remain in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 13th day of April , 1982.
