A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING THE RATES, RULES AND
REGULATIONS FOR THE SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF
ELECTRIC ENERGY AS ADOPTED BY CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION NO. 71R -478 AND MOST RECENTLY
AMENDED BY CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO.
82R -295.
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim maintains an electric
distribution system for the furnishing of electricity to
residents and inhabitants of the City of Anaheim and has
adopted Electric Rates, Rules and Regulations for the sale
and distribution of electric energy; and
WHEREAS, the Customer Service Division of the
Public Utilities Department bills for sanitation services
including street cleaning, sewer system maintenance and
solid waste collection for the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the Public Utilities General Manager
has recommended amending Rules 10 and 17 of said Electric
Rates, Rules and Regulations to include sanitation charges
in said Rules and to authorize the Utility to refund a
credit balance in the event of a Utility error.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that the Electric Rates, Rules and
Regulations adopted by City Council Resolution No. 71R -478
and most recently amended by City Council Resolution No.
82R -295 be amended as follows, to wit;

RULE NO. 10
DISPUTED BILLS
A. When a customer and the Utility fail to agree on a bill for
electric or sanitation services:
The customer may, in liew of paying the disputed bill,
deposit with the Utilities General Manager of the City of
Anaheim the amount claimed by the Utility to be due.
B. Upon receipt of the deposit, the Utilities General Manager
will review the basis of the billed amount, communicate
the results of his review to the parties and make disburse-
ment of the deposit.
C. Service will not be discontinued for nonpayment of the dis-
puted bill when deposit has been made with the Utilities
General Manager pending the outcome of the review.
D. Failure of the customer to make such deposit within 15 days
after receipt of the bill will constitute acceptance by
the customer of the bill as rendered, and warrant discon-
tinuance of his service in accordance with Rule No. 11.
E. If before completion of the Utilities General Manager's
review, additional bills become due which the customer
wishes to dispute, he shall also deposit with the Utilities
General Manager the additional amounts claimed by the
Utility to be due for such additional bills before they
become past due and that failure to do so will warrant
discontinuance of his service in accordance with Rule
No. 11.

C. ADJUSTMENT OF BILLS FOR UTILITY ERROR.
1. General. When it is found that an error in billing has
occurred due to a Utility error for electric or sani-
tation services, the date of which can be reliably
established, the overcharge or the undercharge may
be computed back to that date provided, however, that
in no case will a bill for an undercharge exceed a
four (4) month period for single- family domestic
service schedules or a twenty -four (24) month period
for all other service schedules.
2. The Utility is authorized to refund a credit balance.

by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 13th day of
July, 1982.
