A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM DENYING VARIANCE NO. 1657.
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a petition for zoning variance from
VILLA ENTERPRISES, owner of certain real property situated in
the City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
The Westerly one -half of the Easterly 150 feet
of the following described property:
That portion of Lot 27 of Anaheim Extension, in
the City of Anaheim, as shown on a Map of Survey
made by William Hamel in 1868, and filed in the
Office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles
County, California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the center line of
Vermont Avenue, distant thereon 162.09 feet
Northeasterly from its intersection with the
center line of Palm Street, and running thence
Northeasterly along said center line of
Vermont Avenue, 300 feet; thence Southeasterly
parallel with the Easterly line of the parcel
of land described in Certificate of Title No.
7725, in the Office of the Registrar of Land
Titles of said Orange County, and the exten-
sions of said line, 257 feet; thence South-
westerly parallel with the center line of
Vermont Avenue 300 feet; thence Northwesterly
parallel with the Easterly line of the parcel
of land described in said certificate of
Title No. 7725, and the extensions of said
line, 257 feet to the point of beginning;
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the Northwesterly portion
included in Vermont Avenue.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim on
November 23, 1964, notice of which said public hearing was
duly given as required by law and the provisions of Title 18,
Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, said City Planning Commission after due
inspection, investigation and studies made by itself and in
its behalf, and after due consideration of all evidence and
reports offered at said hearing, did adopt Resolution No. 1424,
Series 1964 -65, denying Variance No. 1657; and
WHEREAS, thereafter within twenty -two (22) days from
the date of the adoption of said resolution, the City Council
did elect, upon its own motion, to review the action taken by
the City Planning Commission in denying said variance and

do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution No. 64R -925
was introduced and adopted at a regular meeting provided by
law, of the City Council of the City of Anaheim, held on the
15th day of December, 1964, by the following vote of the
members thereof:
AYES: COUNCILMEN: Pebley, Dutton, Schutte, Krein and Chandler
NOES: COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: None
AND I FURTHER CERTIFY that the Mayor of the City of
Anaheim approved and signed said Resolution No. 64R -925 on the
15th day of December, 1964.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and

did set a public hearing thereon to be held on the 15th day of
December, 1964, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the City Hall in the
City of Anaheim, and notice of such public hearing was duly
given as required by law and the provisions of Title 18,
Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that:
1. There is no substantial property right possessed
by other property in the same vicinity and
zone and denied the subject property.
2. It appears that the subject property can be
adequately developed and used under the
present zone.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning Com-
mission denying variance No. 1657 be, and the same is hereby
sustained, and that the petition of Villa Enterprises for a
variance permitting a waiver of the one -story height limitation
within 150 feet of R -1 zoned property and a waiver of the
minimum required parking area, and permitting the construction
of carports in lieu of garages, on the property hereinbefore
described, be, and the same is hereby denied, without prejudice.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
this 15th day of December, 1964.
