A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM DENYING CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT NO. 684
WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission of the City of
Anaheim did receive a request for a Conditional Use Permit from
OPAL M. STEIB and JOHN P. RALSTON.. 316 E. Broadway, Anaheim,
California, to establish a speech therapy and language training
institute on the following described property situated in the
City of Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, to wit:
That portion of Lot 4, Tract 647, in the City of Anaheim,
as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 20, page 34,
Miscellaneous Maps, Records of said Orange County,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the South line of said Lot 4, a
distance of 20 feet North of the center line of Orange Ave-
nue, distant thereof 248 feet West of the Southeast corner
thereof, and running thence North parallel with the East
line of said lot, 147 feet; thence East parallel with the
South line of said lot, 145 feet; thence South parallel with
the East line of said lot, 147 feet; thence West along the
South line of said lot, 145 feet to the point of beginning;
EXCEPTING THEREFROM beginning at a point in the South line
of said Lot 4, a distance of 20 feet North of the center line
of Orange Avenue, distant thereon 248 feet West of the South-
east corner thereof, and running thence North parallel with
the East line of said lot, 147 feet; thence East parallel
with the South line of said lot, 48 feet; thence South
parallel with the East line of said Lot, 147 feet; thence
West along the South line of said lot, 48 feet to the
point of beginning.
AND WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission did hold a
public hearing at the City Hall in the City of Anaheim upon
said request on April 12 ,19 65 notices of which
said public hearing were duly given as required by law and the
provisions of Title 18, Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code; and
WHEREAS, said Commission, after due inspection, inves-
tigation and studies made by itself and in its behalf and after
due consideration of all evidence and reports offered at said
hearing, did adopt its Resolution No. 1593 Series 1964 -65
granting Conditional Use Permit No. 684, subject to
certain conditions therein set forth and
WHEREAS, thereafter, within twenty -two days from the
date of the adoption of said resolution, the City Council did
elect, upon its own motion, to review the action of the City
Planning Commission in granting said Conditional Use
Permit and did thereupon fix the 18th day of May
19 65 as the time and the Council Chamber in the City Hall

of the City of Anaheim as the place for a public hearing upon
said Conditional Use Permit, and notices of such public hearing
were duly given as required by law and the provisions of Title
18, Chapter 18.76 of the Anaheim Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, at the time and place fixed for said public
hearing, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such hear-
ing and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity
to be heard and did receive evidence and reports; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find, after careful
consideration of the recommendations of the City Planning
Commission and all evidence and reports offered at said hearing,
that Conditional Use Permit No. 684 should be denied.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the action of the City Planning Commis-
sion granting Conditional Use Permit No. 684 be, and the
same is hereby disapproved and that the request of Opal M.
Steib and John P. Ralston for a Conditional Use Permit to
establish a speech therapy and language training institute on
the property hereinbefore described, be, and the same is hereby
denied.
