1965-305WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Company is the owner of
certain land in the City of Anaheim, which property includes
Winston Road and Vernon Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does
determine that it is in the interest of the City to have such
streets dedicated for public use; and
WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Southern Pacific
Company and the City of Anaheim that said streets be improved
in such a manner to facilitate the movement of traffic within
the area; and
WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Company desires to dedicate
said streets to the City in order to accomplish the foregoing;
and
WHEREAS, the City and Southern Pacific Company wish to
enter into an agreement providing for the improvement and dedi-
cation of said streets.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the City enter into an agreement with
Southern Pacific Company providing for the improvement and
dedication to the City of Anaheim of Vernon Street and Winston
Road, upon the following terms and conditions:
1. Southern Pacific Company shall grade and improve
two roadways known as Vernon Street and Winston
Road as they presently extend north of Cerritos
Avenue and west of State College Boulevard,
respectively, to that location wherein said road-
ways presently intersect with one another, and as
described on the plans and specifications
presently on file in the Office of the City
Engineer. Such improvements shall include asphalt
paving, consisting of three inches of asphaltic
concrete over a three inch aggregate base, and
the installation of curbs, gutters, driveways,
sewers, and drainage facilities according to
plans Nos. 6569, 6570 and 6571 on file in the
Office of the City Engineer.
2. Southern Pacific Company shall also improve the
roadways at the intersections of Vernon Street
with Cerritos Avenue and Winston Road with State
College Boulevard with four inches of asphaltic
concrete over weed killer and two inches of
asphaltic concrete, temporary paving, respectively,
according to the plans identified in Paragraph 1.

RESOLUTION NO. 65R- 305
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY
PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND DEDICATION
TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF CERTAIN STREETS
KNOWN AS VERNON STREET AND WINSTON ROAD; AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 65R -293.

3. The City shall agree that when the improvements
described above have been completed, the City
of Anaheim will accept the dedication by
Southern Pacific Company of said improved road-
ways for public road and utility purposes. City
shall, at the time of such dedication, pay to
Southern Pacific Company an amount equal to
the cost of that portion of said improvements
consisting of the installation of the asphalt
concrete paving and base of the roadways. Southern
Pacific Company shall agree that the City shall have
the right of review of such costs of improvements,
and that the awarding of the contract for such
improvements shall be with the consent of the
City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
be and they are authorized to execute such agreement for and on
behalf of the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 65R -293 be,
and the same is hereby rescinded.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and signed by me
