1965-721RESOLUTION NO. 65R- 721
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 64R -214
FIXING RATES FOR WATER SERVICE AND CONNECTIONS,
AND CHARGES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF WATER MAINS,
TO WIT: RULES AND REGULATIONS #5 WATER,
SUBHEADING WATER MAIN EXTENSIONS, PARAGRAPH 4,
BY CHANGING THE BASIS OF CHARGES FOR THE INSTAL-
LATION AND EXTENSION OF WATER MAINS.
WHEREAS, the City Council did on March 31, 1964 adopt
its Resolution No. 64R -214, fixing rates for general water
service and connections, and charges for the installation and
extension of water mains; and
WHEREAS, Paragraph 4 of Rules and Regulations #5
Water did provide that the standard of charges to be paid
by property owners abutting the installation or extension of
water mains be determined by the front footage of said abutting
property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that a front foot-
age computation is not practicable in certain areas of water main
installation where the benefitted property does not abut the
installation or the installation does not take place in a dedi-
cated street; and
WHEREAS, because of the respective locations of property
owners deriving benefits from the installation and extension
of water mains, said property owners do not presently share
equitably in the expenses of said installations; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find that a more prac-
ticable and equitable basis of water main installation and exten-
sion charges would be that of a charge per acre of property
served.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim that Resolution No. 64R -214 be, and the
same is hereby, amended by changing Paragraph 4 of the Rules
and Regulations #5 Water to read as follows:
"4. All water mains installed or extended by the City of
Anaheim subsequent to January 1, 1950, not referred
to in Paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 above, shall be paid for
by the owners of property benefitted by such instal-
lation or extension. The cost to each property owner
served at the time of extension or installation, or
at some future time, shall be as follows:
(a) Residential Development $155 per acre
served.
(b) Commercial Development $195 per acre
served.
(c) Industrial Development $235 per acre
served.
-1-
All charges are computed at the current cost of labor,
equipment, and materials and shall be periodically
reviewed to determine the changes in the costs of
such items."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 64R -214
be, and the same is hereby, amended by the foregoing resolution,
and that except for such amendment herein said Resolution No..
64R -214 be, and remain in full force and effect.
