AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
TITLE 18 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE BY
ADDING CHAPTER 18.86 THERETO, RELATING TO
ZONING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and
the same is hereby amended, by adding thereto a new Chapter
18.86 to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 18.86 PR PUBLIC RECREATIONAL ZONING
SECTION 18.86.010 PR PUBLIC RECREATIONAL ZONING
DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE.
(1) The purpose of Public Recreational Zoning is to
establish for the benefit of the health, safety
and general welfare of the citizens of Anaheim
in the enjoyment of city owned properties and
facilities, a zone to preserve, regulate and con-
trol the orderly use thereof.
(2) Property within the purview of the Public Recrea-
tional zone includes only city owned property,
whether the same is exclusively occupied by the
City or is shared with others on some basis of
agreement or concession.
(3) The types and classifications of properties per-
mitted to be included within Public Recreational
Zoning may, but need not, be included therein
initially. Classifications of city owned property
may be added to the Public Recreational Zone from
time to time as the City Council may see fit.
"SECTION 18.86.020 PERMITTED PRIMARY USES.
Subject to the limitation that this zone includes
only city owned property, the following uses,
either singly or in combination, are permitted in
this zone:
1. Parks, green belts, conservation and open space.
2. Parking complexes and parking lots.
3. Municipal Golf Courses.
4. Stadium and Sports Arena Complexes.
5. Convention Center Complexes.
6. Municipal Auditoriums.
7. Aquatic Recreational Complexes.
"SECTION 18.86.030 PERMITTED ACCESSORY USES
The following accessory uses may be conducted where
incidental to and integrated within a primary use
complex:

1. Concession stands, restaurants
2. Athletic equipment shops.
3. Specialty and souvenir shops.
4. Such other compatible uses as
from time to time by the City
and shops.

"SECTION 18.86.060 SITE DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS
Site development standards shall conform with
those ordinarily imposed upon publicly owned
property, but, except by direction of the City
Council, shall be compatible with the site
development standards established for the sur-
rounding zones."
SECTION 2.
The City Council hereby declares that this ordinance
is necessary as an emergency measure for the immediate preserva-
tion of the Public Peace, Health, Safety and Welfare. The rea-
sons for the urgency of this ordinance are as follows:- The zon-
ing status of some of the municipally owned property within the
city is in doubt and it is necessary immediately to create and
establish a special zone to provide for municipally owned
properties in order to maintain and promote the orderly develop-
ment and control of land use within the City of Anaheim«.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin, a
newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and circu-
lated in said City, and immediately from and after its passage
it shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
this 18th day of December, 1973.
