Ali ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMEND—
ING TITLE 14 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE
BY ADDING THERETO CHAPTER 14.52, SECTIONS
14.52.010 THROUGH 14.52.060, REGULATING
THE MOVEMENT OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT
WITHIN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:

That Title 14 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and
the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Chapter 14.52,
reading as follows:
"CHAPTER 14.52 MOVEMENT OF VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT.
"SECTION 14.52.010 MOVEMENT OF OVERWEIGHT AND OVERSIZE
VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT - PERMIT
REQUIRED.
"It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association
or corporation to move or operate upon any highway in the
City of Anaheim any vehicle, combination of vehicles,
mobile equipment or load which weighs or measures in
excess of the weight, width, height or length permitted
by Division 15 of the California Vehicle Code, unless an
application therefor has been filed with and a permit
issued by the Director of Public Works.
°"SECTION 14.52.020 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT.
"The application for a permit shall be upon forms to be
supplied by the City of Anaheim and shall set forth the
following information:
(a) The name and address of the applicant.
(b) Description of vehicle and load to be operated
or moved.
(c) Highways over which permit to operate is requested.
(d) Date, hour, duration and number of trips to be made.
(e) Number and location of stops to be made within the
City of Anaheim.
"SECTION 14.52.030 FILING FEES.
"A fee shall be paid by the applicant upon the filing of
each application for a permit as follows:
(a) $2.00 for one trip.

(b) $10.00 for a permit valid for one year from date
of issuance, and permitting any number of trips
within or into the City of Anaheim within said
year; provided, however, that separate applications
shall be filed for each trip containing the infor-
mation required by this Chapter.
`SECTION 14.52.040 CONSIDERATION OF APPLICATION -
CRITERIA FOR ISSUANCE OR DENIAL
OF PERMIT.
"The Director of Public Works shall, by written permit,
authorize the use of highways within the City of Anaheim
in accordance with the terms of the application, if, in
his judgment and that of the Chief of Police, said high-
ways and appurtenant public and private property can
safely withstand such use. Such permit shall specify
the period of time for which it is to be effective;
the route or routes to be traveled; the date, hour, and
number of trips to be made; such stops as shall be made
within the City of Anaheim, and such other terms and
conditions which the Director of Public Works and the
Chief of Police determine necessary for public convenience
and safety. Every permit shall be carried in the vehicle
or combination of vehicles to which it refers and shall
be open to inspection of any peace officer, traffic officer,
authorized agent of the Director of Public Works, or any
other officer or employee charged with the care or
protection of such highways.
"SECTION 14.52.050 INDEMIFICATION, BONDING AND
INSURANCE REQUIREMENT.
"A written agreement, approved as to form by the City
Attorney, shall be filed by the applicant providing that
the City of Anaheim and any officer or employee thereof
shall be saved harmless by the applicant from any liability
or responsibility for any accident, loss or damage to persons
or property happening or occurring as the proximate result
of the use of highways under the terms of the application
and the permit granted in response thereto, and that all of
said liabilities are hereby assumed by the applicant. Such
permit shall be granted upon such conditions and upon de-
positing such bond and certificate of insurance as the
Director of Public Works in his discretion may require.
"SECT1ION 14.52.060 VIOLATION - REVOCATION
"Any person, firm, association or corporation moving or
operating upon any highway in the City of Anaheim any
vehicle, combination of vehicles, mobile equipment or
load contrary to any term or condition of a permit issued
under the authority of Chapter 14.52 hereof shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and such permit shall be revoked and
cancelled by the Director of Public Works."
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the sane to be printed once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after
its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
