AN ORDINANCL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIMi APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF THE
TERRITORY KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS ORCHARD
DRIVE ANNEXATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAIIEI14 DOES ORDAI-1
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on
the 13th day of September , 19 68 , receive a written
petition asking tiiat certain new territory described in said
petition be annexe(i to the City of Anaheim.
That prior to the circulation or filing of said
petition, notice of intention to annex said territory, contain-
ing tie specific boundaries of the territory to be annexed, was
filed with the Local Agency Formation Commission, and said Local
Agency Formation Commission rendered its decision, as provided
in Section 54797 of the Government Code, approving said
annc xation.

California, aria is contiguous to the City of Anahein, and is
uniiiiiauitea territory. Tiiat said petition contained a Ciescrip-
tion of said territory in words and figures as hereinafter in
this ordinance acscribed.
That the City Council duly assembled at a
regular meeting of said City Council held on the r17th day of
September 1119_68 , did find that said petition at the time
it was filed and received was signed by the owners of not 'Less
than one-fourth of the land in the territory by area and by
assessed value, as shown on the last preceding eclualizud assess-
ment roll of the County of Orange, State of California, in wnic'n
said territory is situated, and that said territory did not for-
a part of any municipal corporation, and did find that said ter-
ritory is contiguous to the City of Anaheim and is uninhabited
territory.
That on the 17th day of September , 19_68, at
a regular meeting of said City Council of the
City of Anaheim, Resolution No. 68R_585_ was duly passed and
adopted specifically describing the boundaries of the territory
so proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim and designating
such territory as QRCHARD DRIVE
ANNEXATION and giving notice of such annexation and fixing the
29th day of October , 19 68 , at the hour of 1:30
o'clock P.M. at the City Council Chamber in the City hall in the
City of Anaheim, as the day, hour and place for hearing of written
protests to said annexation and when and where any person owning
real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed
and having objections to the proposed annexation might appear
before the City Council of the City of Anaheim and present written
objections to the annexation of said territory to the City of
Anaheim, and directing the City Clerk to publish or cause to be

published a copy of said resolution at least twice, but not
oftener than once a week, for two successive weeks prior to
the date of said hearing, in a newspaper of general circula-
tion, published in the City of Anaheim, to wit:
the Anaheim Billlet;n of Anaheim, Orange County,
California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation,
published outside of the City of Anaheim, but in the County of
Orange, in which is located the territory hereinafter proposed
to be annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit:
the Placentia Courier and
directing that said publications be completed at least twenty
(20) days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove mentioned;
and further directing the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to each person to whom -land -within the territory proposed to be
annexed is assessed in the last equalized County assessment roll
available on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the
address shown on said assessment roll or as known to said City
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of lands in which he has any interest, either
legal or equitable, with said City Clerk; and that in the event
that land within the territory proposed to be annexed to the
City of Anaheim is owned by a county, that the City Clerk shall
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed
to the Board of Supervisors of such county, and directing that
such notices be given not less than twenty (20) days before the
first public hearing on the proposed annexation.
That on the hour, day and at the place specified in
said Resolution No. 68R-585 , to wit: On the 29th day of
October , 19 68 , at the hour of 1:30lco ock P.M.
in the City Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of
Anaheim, California, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did
meet and assemble to hear and pass on all protests filed or re-
ceived up to the closing of the hearing on said protests. That
the City Council did find that the resolution fixing the time
and place of said hearing was published by the City Clerk as
therein directed, and that written notice of such proposed
annexation was mailed by the City Clerk as directed in said
resolution and as set forth above, and that written protests
were not made by the owner or owners of one-half of the value
of the territory proposed to be annexed according to the last
equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State of
California, nor were protests made by public or private owners
equal to one-half of the value of the territory proposed to be
annexed as determined by the City Council. Said findings were
then duly adopted by Resolution No. 68R- on
October 29 , 196_.
SECTION 2.
That the annexation of the territory included within
the boundaries of the
ANNEXATION, and more particu-
larly described as follows, to wit:

TO
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
Beginning at a point in the existing City Limit line of the City
of Anaheim, said point being the SW corner of the Esperanza High
School Annexation to the City of Anaheim, passed by the Orange
County Board of Supervisors April I2, 1967 by Resolution No. 67-
3721, recorded April 26, 1967 in Official Records of Orange County,
California, and filed with the Secretary of State May 5, 1967,
said Southwest corner and point of beginning being distant from
the centerline intersection of Orchard Drive and Orangethorpe
Avenue the following courses and distances: North 30 26' 30"
East 1,120.42 feet, more or less, North 770 30' 00" West 670 feet,
more or less, North 110 55' 00" East 20 feet, more or less; the
intersection of said centerline of Orchard Drive and Orangethorpe
Avenue is shown on a Map of Tract No. 418I, recorded in Book 156,
pages 2I, 22 and 23 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange
County, California; thence
South II° 55' 00" West 20 feet, more or less, leaving the said
existingCity Limit line of the City of Anaheim to an intersection
with the centerline of said Orchard Drive, said point of intersection
being distant South 770 30' 00" East 20 feet, more or less, from
the Northwest corner of the 18.I7 acre Tract of First Class land
allotted Jesus Wilson de Shorb by final decree in partition of
the Rancho Canon de Santa Ana, rendered February 3, 1874, as said
parcel is shown on a Map of Survey filed in Book 7, page 12 of
Record of Surveys in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange
County, California; thence
North 770 30' 00" West 20 feet, more or less, to the Northwest
corner of the land allotted to said Jesus Wilson de Shorb as shown
on said Pap of Survey; thence
North 8I° 23' 30" West 594.50 feet, more or less, along the North-
erly line of the land shown on the Record of Survey recorded in
said Book 7, page I2 of Record of Surveys in the Office of the
County Recorder of Orange County, California, to the Northwest
corner of that certain 14.93 acre parcel of land allotted to
William McKee in the last mentioned final decree in partition of
the Rancho Canon de Santa Ana, rendered February 3, 1874, said
Northwest corner also being, for the purpose of this description,
the Northeast corner of Tract No. 4926, as shown on a Map recorded
in Book 179, pages 13 and I4 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of
Orange County, California; thence

North 860 39' 01" West 637.54 feet, more or less, along the Northerly
line of said Tract No. 4926, to the Northwest corner thereof, said
Northwest corner also being the Northeast corner of Tract No. 5441, as
shown on a Map recorded in Book I97, pages 45 and 46 of Miscellaneous
Maps, records of Orange.County, California; thence
North 860 39' 01" West 303.34 feet, more or less, along the Northerly
line of said Tract No. 544I, to the Northwest corner thereof, said
Northwest corner also being the Northeast corner of Tract No. 4762, as
shown on a Map recorded in Book I86, pages 5 and 6 of Miscellaneous
Maps, records of Orange County, California; thence
North 860 39' OI" West 82.50 feet, more or less, along a portion of
the Northerly line of said Tract No. 4762, to an intersection with the
Easterly line of Tract No. 5990, as shown on a Map recorded in Book
237, pages 3I and 32 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California, said point of intersection being a point in the existing
City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, as established by the North-
east Annexation No. 3 to the City of Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No.
I542, January I7, 196I, filed with the Secretary of State July I0, 1964
and recorded July I7, I964 in Official Records of Orange County,
California; thence
North 10. 56' 08" West 700 feet, more or less, along a portion of the
last mentioned existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, being
a portion of the Easterly line of said Tract No. 5990, to the South-
westerly corner of that certain parcel of land designated as the land
of Bernardo M. Yorba Jr., et al, as shown on a Map of Survey filed in
Book 53, page 44 of Record of Surveys, in the office of the County
Recorder of said Orange County, California, said Southwesterly corner
being a point in the existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim,
as established by the Rinker Annexation, passed by Ordinance No. 2257,
March 8, I966, filed with the Secretary of State April II, I966, and
recorded April I2, I966 in Official Records of Orange County, California;
thence
South 840 25' 39" East 1,589 feet, more or less, leaving the existing
City Limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by said North-
east Annexation No. 3 and following along a portion of the existing
City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, as established by said Rinker
Annexation, being the Southerly line of the land of said Bernardo M.
Yorba, Jr., et al, as shown

on said Record of Survey, to the most Southeasterly corner of said
Rinker Annexation; thence
North I20 19' 00" West 47.27 feet, more or less, along a portion

of the existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, being a portion
of the most Easterly line of said Rinker Annexation to a point in the
existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, as established by the
Rinker Annexation No. 2 to the City of Anaheim, passed by Resolution No.
66R -7I7, November 25, 1966, certified by the Secretary of State November
21, 1966 and recorded November 23, 1966 in Official Records of Orange
County, California, said point being the most Southerly corner of said
Rinker Annexation No. 2; thence
Leaving the existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, as
established by the said Rinker Annexation and following along the East-
erly line and the Northerly line of the existing City Limit line as
established by the said Rinker Annexation No. 2, the following courses
and distances: North 50 34' 21" East 170.0I feet, more or less, North
840 25' 39" West 54.88 feet, more or less, to the Northwest corner of
the said Rinker Annexation No. 2, said Northwest corner also being a
point in the existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim as estab-
lished by the aforementioned Rinker Annexation, said point being the
Southeast corner of Parcel No. 2, of the land conveyed to the Placentia
Unified School District of Orange County, California, by final Order of
Condemnation recorded April I8, 1963 in Book 65I4, pages 183 and 184 of
Official Records of Orange County, California; thence
North 840 25' 39" West 307.82 feet, more or less, North 50 34'
21" East 595.53 feet, more or less, along the existing City Limit line of
the City of Anaheim, as established by the said Rinker Annexation to the
Northeast corner of said Rinker Annexation, said Northeast corner also
being the Northwest corner of said Parcel No. 2 of the land conveyed to
the aforementioned Placentia Unified School District of Orange County;
thence
North 75° 49' I4" East 20.80 feet, more or less, leaving the
last mentioned existing City Limit line of the City of Anaheim, and
following along a portion of the Northerly line of the last mentioned
land of said Placentia Unified School District of Orange County, describ-
ed in said Parcel No. 2 to an intersection with the Easterly line of Lot
5, Block 34 of the Yorba Linda Tract, as shown on a Map recorded in Book
5, pages I7 and 18 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County,
California; thence
North 390 30' I7" East 207.62 feet, more or less, along the
Easterly line

of Lot 5, Block 34 of said Yorba Linda Tract, to the Northeast corner
of said Lot 5, said Northeast corner also being the most Southerly
corner of Lot 3, Block 34 of the said Yorba Linda Tract, as said
Southerly corner is referred to in the description contained in the
Resolution of Incorporation #67-I183 of the City of Yorba Linda, adopt-
ed August 23, 1967, received and filed with Local Agency Formation
Commission, November 6. 1967; thence
Following along a portion of the existing City Limit line of the said
City of Yorba Linda, the following courses and distances: North 29°
44' 50" East 699.57 feet along the Easterly line of Lot 3, Block 34 of
said Yorba Linda Tract to an intersection with the Southerly line of
the Pacific Electric Railway right of way, 200 feet wide, as described
in the deed to Pacific Electric Land Co. by deed recorded in Book 177,
page 88 of Deeds, records of Orange County, California; thence South
550 5I' 40" East 287.00 feet, more or less, along a portion of the
Southerly line of said Pacific Electric Railway right of way, 200 feet
wide, to an intersection with the Southerly prolongation of the East-
erly line of Lot 6, Block 25 of the said Yorba Linda Tract, as shown
on a Map recorded in Book 5, pages I7 and I8 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of Orange County, California; thence North 44° 26' 50" East
20I.50 feet, more or less, along the said prolongation and a portion
of the Easterly line of Lot 6, Block 25 of said Yorba Linda Tract to
an intersection with the Northerly line of the said Pacific Electric
Railway right of way, 200 feet wide; thence
South 530 OI' East 80 feet, more or less, along a portion of the North-
erly line of said Pacific Electric Railway right of way, leaving the
said existing City Limit line of the City of Yorba Linda to an inter-
section with the Easterly right of way line of Orchard Drive, 60 feet
wide, said point of intersection being a point in the existing City
Limit line of the City of Anaheim, as established by the Yorba Annex-
ation to the City of Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No. 1777, November
13, I962, filed with the Secretary of State August I0, I964 in Official

Following along a portion of the last mentioned existing City Limit
line of the City of Anaheim the following courses and distances: South
360 42' West 278 feet, more or less, along the said Easterly right of
way line of Orchard Drive, 60 feet wide, to the beginning of a tangent
curve concave Southeasterly and having a radius of 320 feet; thence
Southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of 160 55' 50"
an arc distance of 94.56 feet, more or less;

thence South I90 46' 10" West I4.57 feet, more or less, tangent to the
last mentioned curve to the beginning of a tangent curve concave South-
easterly and having a radius of 345 feet; thence Southerly and South-
easterly along the last mentioned curve through a central angle of 360
33' 26" an arc distance of 220 feet, more or less, to an intersection
with the Northerly line of the land conveyed to Harry M. Rainville and
Irene E. Rainville, husband and wife, by deed recorded April 1, 1958 in
Book 4244, page 38 of Official Records of Orange County, California,
said point of intersection being in a curve concave Northerly and hav-
ing a radius of 350 feet, a radial line bearing South 30 06' 48" East
passes through said point; thence Easterly along said curve through a
central angle of 50 42' 38" an arc distance of 35 feet, more or less,
thence North BIO 10' 34" East 98 feet, more or less, tangent to last
mentioned curve to the beginning of a tangent curve concave Southeast-
erly and having a radius of 580 feet, thence Easterly along said curve
concave Southerly through a central angle of 110 5I' I6" an arc distance
of I20 feet, more or less, to the Northeast corner of the land conveyed
to said Harry M. Rainville and wife, a radial line bearing North 30 OI'

angle of 30° I5' 22" an arc distance of 214 feet,more or less, to an
intersection with a radial line which bears South 790 30' 30" East and
passes through said point of intersection, as shown on a Record of Survey
Map filed in Book 53, page 44 of Record of Surveys in the office of the

SECTION 3.
That from and after the effective date of this
ordinance and the filing of a certified copy thereof with the
Secretary of State of the State of California, the annexation
of the territory herein described shall be deemed to be and
shall be complete and thenceforth such annexed territory shall
be, to all intents and purposes, a part of the City of Anaheim,
and from and after the effective date of such annexation, all
property therein shall be subject to taxation equally with the
property within the City of Anaheim and shall be taxed to pay
its proportionate share of the existing indebtedness and
liability of said City of Anaheim -contracted prior to or exist-
ing at the time of such annexation pursuant to the written con-
sent of the owners of property in said annexed territory filed
with the Clerk of the City of Anaheim prior to the adoption of
this ordinance.
SECTION 4.
- The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the
Anaheim Bulletin , a newspaper of general circu-
lation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim,
County of Orange, State of California, and thirty (30) days from
and after its final passage it shall be in full force and effect.
THE.FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
