AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING TITLE 49 CHAPTER 4.409 SECTION
4.40.010 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE,
RELATING"TO FORTUNE TELLING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Title 4, Chapter 4.40, Section 4.40.010 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"SECTION 4.40.010 FORTUNE TELLING, MEDIUMSHIP, MAGIC --
PRACTICE FOR COMPENSATION PROHIBITED.
"It is unlawful in the City of Anaheim for any person,
firm or corporation to carry on, practice or profess to
practice the business or art of astrology, palmistry,
phrenology, life -reading, fortune telling, cartomancy,
clairvoyyance, clairaudience, crystal gazing, hypnotism,
mediumship, spirit photography, spirit writing, spirit
voices, spirit materialization, etherealization, prophecy,
augury, divination, magic, necromancy, or fortune telling
by handwriting analysis, or other similar business or art,
and to demand or receive directly or indirectly a fee,
gift, donation or reward for the exercise or exhibition
of his, her or its art therein."
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after
its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
this 9th day of ,July , 1968.
