AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF ANAHEIM OF THE
TERRITORY KNOWN AND DESIGNATED AS ORANGE -

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the City Council of the City of Anaheim did on the
21st day of July, 1970, receive a written petition asking that
certain new territory described in said petition be annexed to
the City of Anaheim.
That prior to the circulation or filing of said peti-
tion, notice of intention to annex said territory, containing the
specific boundaries of the territory to be annexed, was filed with
the Local Agency Formation Commission, and said Local Agency
Formation Commission rendered its decision, as provided in Section
54797 of the Government Code, approving said annexation.
That said territory proposed to be annexed to said City
of Anaheim is situated in the County of Orange, State of California,
and is contiguous to the City of Anaheim, and is uninhabited terri-
tory. That said petition contained a description of said terri-
tory in words and figures as hereinafter in this ordinance de-
scribed.
That the City Council duly assembled at a regular meet-
ing of said City Council held on the 4th day of August, 1970, did
find that said petition at the time it was filed and received was
signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth of the land in
the territory by area and by assessed value; as shown on the last
preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange, State
of California, in which said territory is situated, and that said
territory did not form a part of any municipal corporation, and
did find that said territory is contiguous to the City of Anaheim
and is uninhabited territory.
That on the 4th day of August, 1970, at a regular meet-
ing of said City Council of the City of Anaheim, Resolution No.
70R-402 was duly passed and adopted specifically describing the
boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City
of Anaheim and designating such territory as ORANGE - RED GUM
ANNEXATION and giving notice of such annexation and fixing the
15th day of September, 1970, at the hour of 1:30 o'clock P.M. at
the City Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim,
as the day, hour and place for hearing of written protests to said
annexation and when and where any person owning real property
within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having objec-
tions to the proposed annexation might appear before the City
Council of the City of Anaheim and present written objections to
the annexation of said territory to the City of Anaheim, and
directing the City Clerk to publish or cause to be published a
copy of said resolution at least twice, but not oftener than once
a week, for two successive weeks prior to the date of said hear-
ing, in a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City
of Anaheim, to wit: Anaheim Bulletin of Anaheim, Orange County,

California, and also in a newspaper of general circulation, pub-
lished outside of the City of Anaheim, but in the County of Orange,
in which is located the territory hereinafter proposed to be
annexed to the City of Anaheim, to wit: Placentia Courier and
directing that said publications be completed at least twenty (20)
days prior to the date of hearing hereinabove mentioned; and fur-
ther directing the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim to cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each
person to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is
assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll available on
the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on
said assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk, and to any
person who has filed his name and address and the designation of
lands in which he has any interest, either legal or equitable, with
said City Clerk; and that in the event land within the territory
proposed to be annexed to the City of Anaheim is owned by a County,
that the. City Clerk shall cause written notice of such proposed
annexation to be mailed to the Board of Supervisors of such
County, and directing that such notices be given not less than
twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed
annexation.
That on the hour, day and at the place specified in
said Resolution No. 70R-402, to wit: On the 15th day of
September, 1970, at the hour of 1:30 o'clock P.M. in the City
Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Anaheim, California,
the City Council of the City of Anaheim did meet and assemble to
hear and pass on all protests filed or received up to the closing
of the hearing on said protests. That the City Council did find
that the resolution fixing the time and place of said hearing was
published by the City Clerk as therein directed, and that written
notice of such proposed annexation was mailed by the City Clerk
as directed in said resolution and as set forth above, and that
written protests were not made by the owner or owners of one-
half of the value of the territory proposed to be annexed accord-
ing to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of Orange,
State of California, nor were protests made by public or private
owners equal to one-half of the value of the territory proposed
to be annexed as determined by the City Council. Said findings
were then duly adopted by Resolution No. 70R-447 on September 15,
1970.
SECTION 2.
That the annexation of the territory included within
the boundaries of the ORANGE - RED GUM ANNEXATION, and more
particularly described as follows, to wit:

That parcel of land located in the County of Orange, State
of California described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the existing city limit line of
the City of Anaheim, as established by the La Palma - Miraloma
Annexation to the City of Anaheim, passed by Ordinance No. 2580
October 1, 1968, filed with the Secretary of State November 8,
1968, and recorded November 13, 1968, records of Orange County
California, said point of beginning also being a point in the
existing city limit line of the City of Anaheim, as established
by the Northeast Annexation No. 2-A passed by Ordinance No. 1269
August 12, 1958 filed with the Secretary of State September 12,
1958 and recorded September 17, 1958 records of Orange County
California, said point of beginning being distant from the
centerline intersection of Miraloma Avenue (formerly known as
Anaheim Road) and Red Gum Street the following courses and dis-
tances, South 160 17' 00" East, 20 feet, North 730 43' 00" East,
20 feet, to an intersection with a line parallel with and 20
feet easterly of the centerline of said Red Gum Street; thence
South 160 17' 00" East, 640 feet, more or less, leaving
the City of Anaheim city limit line as established by the said
Northeast Annexation No. 2-A and following along a portion of
the existing City of Anaheim city limit line as established by
said La Palma - Miraloma Annexation, being a portion of the last
mentioned parallel line to an intersection with the centerline
of Orange Street (now abandoned) as said intersection is estab-
lished in said La Palma - Miraloma Annexation; thence
South 160 17' 00" East, 20 feet, more or less, leaving the
city limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by said
La Palma - Miraloma Annexation and following along the above
mentioned parallel line to an intersection with a line parallel
with and 20 feet southerly as measured at right angles from the
centerline of said Orange Street; thence
South 730 43' 00" West, 1,208 feet, more or less, along the
last mentioned parallel line to an intersection with the souther-
ly prolongation of the east line of Lot 34 of the Eucalyptus
Forest Tract as shown on a Map recorded in Book 5, pages 29 and
30 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California,
said point of intersection being a point in the existing city
limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by the Miraloma
- Coronado Annexation to the City of Anaheim passed by Ordinance
No. 2787, March 17, 1970, filed with the Secretary of State,

County, California; thence
Following along.the said existing city limit line of the
City of Anaheim as established by said Miraloma - Coronado
Annexation the following courses and distances:
North 160 17' 00" West, 350 feet, more or less, along said
southerly prolongation and east line of said Lot 34 to the north-
east corner of said Lot 34; thence
North 730 43' 00" East, 264 feet, more or less, along the
north line of Lot 33 and the north line of Lot 32 of said
Eucalyptus Forest Tract to an intersection with the east line
of Lot 13 of said Eucalyptus Forest Tract; thence
North 160 17' 00" West, 310 feet, more or less, along the
east line of said Lot 13 to an intersection with a line parallel
with and 20 feet southerly as measured at right angles from the
centerline of Miraloma Avenue (formerly known as Anaheim Road)
said point of intersection being a point in the existing city
limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by the afore-
mentioned Northeast Annexation No. 2-A; thence
Leaving the existing city limit line of the City of Anaheim
as established by said Miraloma - Coronado Annexation and follow-
ing along a portion of the existing city limit line of the City
of Anaheim as established by the aforementioned Northeast Annex-
ation No. 2-A; thence
North 730 43' 00" East, 528 feet, more or less, along the
last mentioned parallel line being a portion of the last men-
tioned existing Anaheim City limit line to an intersection with
the west line of Lot 18 of the aforementioned Eucalyptus Forest
Tract, said point of intersection being a point in the existing
city limit line of the City of Anaheim, as established by the
Red Gum - Miraloma Annexation to the City of Anaheim passed by
Resolution No. 70R-85, February 10, 1970, filed with the Secre-
tary of State, February 13, 1970 and recorded February 26, 1970;
thence leaving the existing City if Anaheim city limit line as
established by the aforementioned Northeast Annexation No. 2-A
and following along the existing city limit line of the City of
Anaheim as established by the last mentioned Red Gum - Miraloma
Annexation the following courses and distances: South 160 17'
00" East, 310 feet, more or less, along the west line of said
Lot 18 to the southwest corner of said Lot 18; thence North 730
43' 00" East, 132 feet, more or less, along the south line of

said point of intersection being a point in the existing city
limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by the afore-
mentioned Northeast Annexation No. 2-A to the City of Anaheim;

North 730 43' 00" East, 284 feet, more or less, leaving
the city limit line of the City of Anaheim as established by
said Red Gum - Miraloma Annexation and following along a portion
of the existing City of Anaheim city limit line as established
by said Northeast Annexation No. 2-A being a portion of the last
mentioned parallel line to the point of beginning.

SECTION 3.
That from and.after the effective date of this ordinance
and the filing of a certified copy thereof with the Secretary of
State of the State of California, the annexation of the territory
herein described shall be deemed'to be and shall be complete and
thenceforth such annexed territory shall be, to all intents and
purposes, a part of the City of Anaheim, and from and after the
effective date of such annexation, all property therein shall be
subject to taxation equally with the property within the City of
Anaheim and shall be taxed to pay its proportionate share of the
existing indebtedness and liability of said City of Anaheim con-
tracted prior to or existing at the time of such annexation pur-
suant to the written consent of the owners of property in said
annexed territory filed with the Clerk of the City of Anaheim
prior to the adoption of this ordinance.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the
Anaheim Bulletin , a newspaper of general circulation, printed,"
published and circulated.in the City of Anaheim, County of Orange,
State of California, and thirty (30) days from and after its final
passage it shall be in full force and effect.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
