I, CHAPTER 1.04 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL
CODE BY ADDING THERETO SECTION 1.04.500
TO 1.04.550, BOTH I1vCLUSIVE, RELATING TO
A COMMU`dIr.I.'Y REDEVELOP!IENT C0:+111ISSION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheiz_i,
pursuant to the provisions of the California Health and Safety
Code, did adopt Resolution No. 6966 declaring the need for a
Redevelopment Agency to function in the City of Anaheim and did
by said Resolution declare the City Council itself as the
Redevelopment Agency of the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of ;Resolution No.
6966, the City of Anaheim became a Chartered City and by a
provision of the Charter, it was provided that all lawful ordin---
ances and resolutions in force at the time of the adoption of
the Charter were continued in full force and therefore Resolution
No. 6966 is still in full force; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines that it
would be in the best interests of the City to adopt the pro-
cedural provisions of the Community Redevelopment Law as set
forth in the California Health and Safety Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in
the best interests to create a Community Redevelopment Commission.
OW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1.
The City of Anaheim does hereby adopt the procedural
provisions of the Community Redevelopment Law as set forth in
the California Health and Safety Code.
SECTION 2.
That Title I, Chapter 1.04 of the Anaheim Municipal
Code be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto Sections
1.04.500 to 1.04.550, both inclusive, reading as follows:
"Section 1.04.500 COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
"There is hereby established a Community Redevelopment
Commission in accordance with the provisions of Section
33201 of the California Health and Safety Code and subject
to restrictions therein contained.`'
"Section 1.04.510 COMMISSION MEMBERSHIP AND TERMS
"A. The Community Redevelopment Commission shall consist
of seven (7) members, none of whom shall hold any paid
office or employment in the City Government and each
of whom shall comply with the provisions of Section
33201 of the California Health and Safety Code.
B. The members of the Community Redevelopment Com-
mission shall be appointed by the City Council
from the qualified electors of the City and shall
be subject to removal by motion of the City Council
adopted by the affirmative votes of the majority
thereof.
C. Each member shall serve for a terra of four ( 4 ) years
and until their respective successors are appointed
and qualified, provided however, that the terms of
the Commission Members first appointed shall expire
as designated by the City Council at the time of
their appointments, as follows:
One (1) on the 30th day of June of the first year
following appointment; two (2) on the 30th day of
June of the second year following appointment; two
(2) on the 30th day of June of the third year follow-
ing appointment; and two (2) on the 30th day of June
of the fourth year following appointment.
D. A vacancy occurring before the e>piration of a term
of a Commission ,,ieiliber shall be filled by appointment
by the City Council for the remainder of the term.'
"Section 1.04.520 ORGANIZATION AND MEETINGS.
"A. The Commission shall, as soon as practical after its
organization under this ordinance, and each year
thereafter, elect a Chairman and Vice---Chairrzan in
accordance with provisions of Section 904 of the
Anaheim City Charter.
3. Meetings of the Commission shall be conducted in
accordance with Section 904 of the Anaheim Charter,
provided however, that the Commission shall meet at
least four times during each calendar year. A regular
meeting time may be established by the Co "-mission.
A majority of the members of the Commission shall
constitute a quorum."
"Section 1.0 4.530 POT+d:�RS AND DUTIES
"The Community Redevelopment Commission shall have the
power and duty to:
A. Conduct and carry out those functions and in the
:Wanner as provided in Section 33202 of the California
Health and Safety Code.
B. Perform such advisory functions as may, by resolution,
be required from time to time by the City Council.`'

"Meribers of the Commission shall serve at no salary, but
shall be reimbursed for travel and subsistence expenses
incurred in the performance of their duties while away
from the City of Anaheim in accordance with Council policy
and to the extent that appropriations for such travel
allowance have been provided by the City Council.`

"Section 1.04.550
''There is hereby authorized to be appropriated to the
Commission such sum as the City Council of the City of
Anaheim may appropriate to carry out the purpose of the
Commission."
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Ordinance and shall cause the same to be printed once within
fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and
circulated in said City, and thirty (30) days from and after
its final passage it shall take effect and be in full force.
