A complete copy of the agenda for the meeting of the Anaheim Redevelopment
Agency was posted at 11:47 a.m. on September 11, 1987 at the Civic Center
kiosk, containing all items as shown herein.
Chairman Bay called the regular meeting of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency to
order at 1:43 p.m.
MINUTES: Approval of the minutes was deferred to the next regular meeting.
FINANCIAL DEMANDS AGAINST THE ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, in the amount of
223,49$.38, in accordance with the 1987-88 Budget, were approved.
161/158: POLICY - FREEDMAN FORUM/CELEBRITY THEATRE EVENTS: Report dated
w_.. September 8, 1987, was submitted by Community Development Executive Director
Norman J. Priest, recommending waiver of deed provisions to permit staging of
a professional boring event in the Freedman Forum Celebrity Theatre,
September 29, 1987. Also submitted was report by the Agency General Counsel
recommending that events outside of those included in provisions of the deed
to the property be considered for approval on an individual basis as they
occur.
On motion by Mr. Pickler, seconded by Mr. Hunter, the Redevelopment Agency
waived provisions of the deed for the Freedman Forum Celebrity Theatre to
allow the boxing event on September 29, 1987, as requested; and the Executive
Director was authorized to send a letter so informing the tenant. Agency
Member Kaywood was absent. MOTION CARRIED.
ITEMS OF PUBLIC INTEREST: Betty Ronconi, 1241 S. Walnut Street, briefly
addressed the Agency concerning the Katella Redevelopment Project, and the
formation of Homeowners to Maintain their Environment (H.O.M.E.). Also
mentioned was the results of the professional poll of voters within the City
conducted by H.O.M.E., indicating an increased awareness of and interest in
local government.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Anaheim
Redevelopment Agency, Agency Member Bay moved to adjourn. Agency Member
Pickler seconded the motion. Agency Member Kaywood was absent. MOTION
