A complete copy of the agenda for the meeting of the Anaheim Redevelopment
Agency was posted at 2:30 p.m. on December 24, 1987 at the Civic Center kiosk,
containing all items as shown herein.
Chairman Bay called the regular meeting of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency to
order at 1:44 p.m.
MINUTES: Agency Member Kaywood moved to approve the minutes of the regular
meeting held November 17, 1987. Agency Member Hunter seconded the motion.
MOTION CARRIED.
FINANCIAL DEMANDS AGAINST THE ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY in the amount of
33,428.21 for the period ending December 18, 1987 and 79,355.74 for the
,..-. period ending December 24, 1987, in accordance with the 1987-88 Budget, were
approved.
On motion by Agency Member Bay, seconded by Agency Member Kaywood, the Anaheim
City Council determined that the need to act on the following item arose after
the posting of the agenda for this meeting, on Friday, December 24, 1987, at
2:30 p.m.; and consequently waived the Brown Act requirement relative to
posting the item on the printed agenda. MOTION CARRIED.
112: SETTLEMENT - ORANGE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT CASE N0. 41-24-61: On motion
by Councilman Bay, seconded by Councilwoman Kaywood, the Anaheim City Council
determined that the need to act on the following item arose after the posting
of the agenda for this meeting, on Friday, December 24, 1987, at 2:30 p.m.;
and consequently waived the Brown Act requirement relative to posting the item
on the printed agenda. MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION: Agency Member Bay moved that the Agency authorize the firm of Oliver,
Stoever, Barr and Einboden to settle Orange County Superior Court Case No.
41-24-61 for the total amount of $1,875,000.00 (Pickwick Hotel). Agency
Member Hunter seconded the motion.
Before a vote was taken, City Attorney Jack White explained that the reason
the foregoing action was not placed on the agenda, it was unknown that the
Agency would be able to settle the matter when the agenda was prepared.
Because of the urgency in affecting settlement without further litigation and
°" expense to the City, the matter was brought in as an off agenda item today.
