Mr. Roth called attention to the signs recently posted indicating that Broadway Street between Lemon Street and Harbor Boulevard will be closed. He noted that Lincoln Avenue was already closed between Anaheim and Harbor Boulevards, with Broadway being the major detour, and he was of the opinion that this additional closure would have a devastating effect on business in the downtown area. City Engineer William Devitt reported that an article regarding the imminent closure of Broadway would be published in the local newspapers this date. The closing was temporary, for approximately seven working days commencing July 11, 1979, the purpose being to construct a storm drain on the east side of Harbor Boulevard at Broadway. He noted that although there would be warning signs and barricades in the street, there would be access to banks and other businesses in the vicinity. Mr. Roth pointed out that concerned citizens and merchants often call Agency Members for information, and it would be beneficial for them to have advance knowledge in these matters'. Also noted were other street —* projects in progress in the area. 79 -87 ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY, JULY 10, 1979, 1:00 P.M.
