161: PUBLIC HEARING - ADOPTION.OF MARKS HISTORICAL FINANCING PROGRAM:
Public hearing was held to consider the adoption of the Marks Historical
Financing Program. The Executive Director noted that in accordance with
Agency action taken June 16, 1981, appointing a Citizens' Advisory Board
for review and recommendations regarding the program, the Board met on
June 26, 1981, and recommended approval with the following three amend-
ments:
1. Plans for construction and restorative work financed by the program
shall be reviewed and approved by someone with experience in preparing
or reviewing restoration plans according to Department of Interior
standards.
2. The property to be financed shall be listed on the Anaheim Survey of
Historical Places.
3. Restorative work on property financed by the program shall be reviewed
by someone with experience in inspection of restorative work according
to Department of Interior standards.
With reference to Amendment_ No. 2, Mr. Bay asked whether it would be
possible to add properties to the Survey of Historical Places.
Mr. Priest replied that the Committee would be examining each property,
and some might be omitted as well as some added; the intent was that
-- the list be kept fluid. He added that a final listing was in the process
of preparation for submission to and approval by the Agency.
Chairman Seymour asked if anyone wished to address the Redevelopment Agency
regarding the adoption of the Marks Historical Financing Program; there
being no response, he declared the public hearing closed.
