Chairman Thom called the Regular Meeting of the Anaheim Housing
Authority to order at 1:05 P.M.
MINUTES: On motion by Mrs. Kaywood, seconded by Mr. Kott, minutes
of the regular Anaheim Housing Authority meetings held July 13,
20 and 27 1976, were approved. MOTION CARRIED.
MINUTES - AUGUST 3, 1976: On motion by Mr. Thom, seconded by
Mr. Roth, minutes of the regular Anaheim Housing Authority meet-
ing held August 3, 1976, were approved. Mrs. Kaywood abstained
from voting. MOTION CARRIED.
REPORT - FINANCIAL DEMANDS AGAINST THE ANAHEIM HOUSING AUTHORITY:
Demands against the Anaheim Housing Authority in the amount of
$1,043.14, in accordance with the 1976 -77 Budget, were approved.
HUD SECTION 8 UPDATE - REPORT, JULY 1976: Housing Director Rosario
Mattessich briefed his report for July, 1976 (copies furnished
each Authority Member), advising that at the end of the month, 96%
of the elderly and 79% of the non - elderly unit allocations were
under lease; sixteen certificate holders (four elderly and twelve
non - elderly) are seeking accommodations or negotiating with their
present landlords. Two more family certificates are pending.
Mr. Mattessich further advised that the Housing Authority
staff is conducting a survey in the nine census tracts containing
700 or more rental units to determine vacancy rates, unit avail-
ability by rent ranges, average rents, and to provide information
on the Housing Assistance program to property managers.
In conclusion, it was noted that information has been received
that funding for the 334 Section 8 units applied for by Anaheim
will not be forthcoming at the present time, nor will any alloca
tions for Orange County. Funding will probably be delayed until
the new fiscal year authorization commences on October 1, 1976. "�"'
In reply to question by Mr. Seymour, Mr. Mattessich reported
that letters requesting the release of funds for the requested
units have been written by Mayor Thom to all appropriate legis-
lators.
HOUSING COMMISSION:
Mr. Mattessich reported that an o
rga.nizational
meeting of the advisory Housing Commission will be held on the
first avail-able date when all members can be present.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business before the Anaheim
Housing Authority, Mrs. Kaywood moved to adjourn. Mr. Seymour
seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED.
