Meeting of the Redevelopment Agency was ordered by the City Council,
February 23, 1465, at the request of the Urban Renewal Committee. In
the absence of Chairman Chandler, Mr. Dutton, Acting Chairman, called
the meeting to order.
MINUTES: Minutes of the meeting held July 21, 1964 and September 15, 1964
were approved on motion by Mr. Pebley, seconded by Mr. Krein. MOTION
CARRIED.
ANAHEIM CENTER CITY STUDY - STEP I TECHNICAL REPORT Mr. Horn submitted Step I
Technical'Report and advised Oat upon its acceptance, work can proceed
on Step II, being a detailed plan for the downtown area.
Mr. Horn then introduced Mr. Frank Hotchkiss, Director of Planning,
and Mr. Ralph Morton of Victor Gruen Associates.
Mr. Hotchkiss explained that Step I contained a summary of the foundation
studies that preceded this study; a summary of their research and analysis
and a summary of Step I planning, or exploratory planning, showing alterna-
tives considered as well as recommended schemes which, in their opinion,
should now be detailed in the subsequent Step II. Also included in the
report were areas recommended for special studies.
Mr. Hotchkiss thereupon reviewed the high points of the plan; the major
features and major considerations instrumental in their conclusions and
recommendations.
Discussion was held concerning said report and the agency requested the
original illustrations be made available for further study. It was deter-
mined that sufficient time had not been available to thoroughly study the
technical report.
At the conclusion of the discussion, Mr. Krein moved that the meeting be
adjourned to March 16, 1965, 10:00 A.M., for further consideration of said
report. Mr. Pebley seconded the motion. MOTION CARRIED.
