I. ANAHEIM HOUSING AUTHORITY: The following matters were considered by the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency: HUD SECTION 8 UPDATE - REPORT, FEBRUARY 1976: Housing Director Rosario Mattessich briefly summarized his February 1976 report (copies fur - nished.each Commissioner), advising that 28 certificates of family participation were issued in February, with a total of 106 H.A.P. contracts executed to date, out of 190 total certificates issued during the first year's program. 13 of the 106 executed con- tracts were to minority families, and more than 90% of the total families assisted were in the very low income family group. Commissioner Seymour called attention to page 2 of the report, wherein it was indicated that the Department of Housing and Urban Development has proposed to revise the Fair Market Rent schedule for Orange County. He inquired whether the increase would be designated for a period of a full year, or be again reviewed during 1976. Mr.Mattessich replied that this information was published in the February 13, 1976 Federal Register and will be published again in the near future, at which time the revised figures will become effective, and the proposed increases of approximately 20% would be in effect for one full year. In response to question by Commissioner Kaywood, Mr. Mattessich pointed out that the fair market rents on the H.U.D. schedule for Orange County indicate the allowed maximum figures, and the majority of the apartments in the program currently rent for lesser amounts. Anaheim apartment owners have been found to be generally fair and honest, and it was further noted that each individual rental unit contracted is rented at a separate negotiated figure. 76-24 Community Development Commission Minutes - March 9, 1976_,_1:00 P.M.
