ARA78- 69 A RESOLUTION OF THE ANAHEIM REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY ACCEPTING A SEALED PROPOSAL AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER FOR DEMOLITION AND CLEARANCE OF CERTAIN AGENCY PROPERTIES. WHEREAS, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency desires the demolition and site clearance of the following Agency properties, to wit: Street Address Block /Parcel 114 South Harbor Boulevard 15/4 Designated as Contract D 78 -6 in accordance with the specifications on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Agency; and WHEREAS, personnel performing Agency functions solici- ted bids for the demolition and site clearance herein described; and WHEREAS, the representative of the Agency did receive the following sealed proposals prior to 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 31st day of May, 1978, in response to the notice aforesaid inviting sealed proposals, to wit: NAME TOTAL PRICE VIKING EQUIPMENT CORPORATION . . . . . . . . . $ 3,500.00 CCC LAND CLEARING & WRECKING . . . . . . . . 4,400.00 ROSIE'S INC . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6,500.00 WIZARD OF WRECKING . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7,100.00 WHEREAS, the Agency Representative did thereupon examine and tabulate said sealed proposals and did report to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency the result of his examination and tabulation; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency finds that the sealed proposal submitted by the Viking Equipment Corp., 3027 Fierro Street, Los Angeles, California, 90065, is the lowest responsible proposal submitted for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water -1- and performing all work necessary to complete in a good and work - manlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications therefor on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Agency, the demolition and clearance hereinabove mentioned and described, together with the appurtenances thereto, and as specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and that said proposal of said above -named bidder should be accepted and a contract awarded to said bidder in accordance therewith; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency finds that the above - mentioned sealed proposal.is the lowest responsible proposal received and that the person, firm or corporation sub- mitting said proposal is a responsible person, firm or corpora- tion and that the proposal submitted is the best suited and fitted for the demolition and clearance to be undertaken. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Anaheim Redevelop- ment Agency that the sealed proposal submitted by said contractor for the furnishing of all plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to complete, in a good and workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the speci- fications therefor on file in the Office of the Secretary of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency and the notice inviting sealed pro- posals, the demolition and clearance hereinabove more particularly mentioned and described, together with the appurtenances thereto, be, and the same is hereby, accepted, and that a contract for the completion of said demolition and clearance be, and the same is hereby, awarded to the said above -named bidder. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED.that the successful bidder or bidders upon each contract awarded as hereinabove set forth, shall be, and they are hereby required to execute a contract in the required form with the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency upon the terms and conditions specified-in the notice inviting sealed proposals and the proposal submitted by said successful bidder or bidders and in accordance with the specifications for said demolition and clearance hereinabove described, and in accordance with the terms, conditions and provisions of this resolution, and that said successful bidder or bidders to whom each contract is awarded shall be required to furnish a surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100 %) of the contract price for all labor, materials and equipment to be furnished and performed, as set forth in the sealed proposal submitted by said bidder for the demolition and clearance, together with the appurtenances thereto or such portion thereof as is covered by said contract, as secur- ity for the faithful performance of said contract, and a separ- ate surety bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100 %) of the cost of said demolition and clearance covered by said contract, as security for the payment of all persons performing labor and furnishing material for said demolition and clearance. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said successful bidder or bidders be, and they are hereby,required to furnish to the - 2 - Anaheim Redevelopment Agency in companies satisfactory to the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, public liability, property damage, compensation, and other insurance in the amounts and for the purposes set forth and specified in the notice inviting sealed proposals, and subject to the approval of the General Counsel of the Agency as to form and sufficiency. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairman and Secretary of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to make, execute, and enter into, for and on behalf of the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency, a written contract with said successful bidder or bidders for the furnish- ing of all plant, labor, materials, and equipment and performing all work, as hereinabove more particularly described for the completion of said demolition and clearance hereinabove described, in accordance with all of the contract documents herein specified.
