A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COI_rNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE APRIL 6, 1994 LETTER
OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AND THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL
WORKERS, LOCAL 47 ON THE MATTER OF AMENDMENTS
TO THE CITY'S CONTRACT WITH ~ CALIFORNIA PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, a representative of the Human Resources Department met and conferred with an
official of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47, on the matter of amendments to
the City's contract with the California Public Employees Retirement System; and
WHEREAS, agreements have been reached between City staff and the International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers, Local 47, to approve benefits improvements amendments to the City's contract with
thc California Public Employees Retirement system to allow military service credit purchase and 1959
survivor benefits; and
WHEREAS, a Letter of Understanding dated April 6. 1994 between the City of Anaheim and the
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47, has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Anaheim does find it in the best interest of the City
of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the
Letter of Understanding dated April 6, 1994 between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers,
Local 47, and the City of Anaheim, copies of which are attached hereto and incorporated by reference
herein, are hereby approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim this 10 day of F~y ,1994.

AMENDMENTS TO CALIFORNIA
PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM
CONTRACT
AFTER meeting and conferring between the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers, Local 47 and the City of Anaheim the parties have reached the following
agreements about amendments to the contract between California Public Employees
Retirement System (PERS) and the City of Anaheim:
1. Milita~ service credit purchase. The City of Anaheim shall amend the
PERS contract to add Section 20930.3 benefits for employees. This
section allows employees, at their own expense, to purchase PERS service
credit for military or merchant marine ser,~ice. The maximum service credit
that PERS allows employees to purchase under this contract section is four
years.
2. 1959 survivor benefits. The City of Anaheim shall amend the PERS
contract to add Section 21382.2 benefits for an eligible employee's
survivors. The monthly 1959 Survivor Benefits for Full Formula members
are at $225 (1), $450 (2), and $538 0 or more).
