A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE
CHIEF OF POLICE TO DONATE FIREARMS
OF HISTORICAL VALUE TO THE
CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MILITARY
MUSEUM AND RESOURCE CENTER
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Police Department, from time to
time, comes into possession of firearms having historical value;
and
WHEREAS, Section 12030(a) of the California Penal Code
authorizes cities to donate firearms of historical value to the
California National Guard military museum and resource center,
with the approval of the Adjutant General of the California
National Guard, as an alternative to destroying them; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has the capability to
determine what firearms of historical interest should be donated
to the California National Guard military museum and resource
center;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim that the Chief of Police is hereby authorized
to donate firearms of historical interest that, from time to
time, come into the possession of the Police Department to the
California National Guard military museum and resource center in
accordance with the provisions of Penal Code Section 12030(a).
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 1st day of November ,
1994.
