A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE
CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY,
DEPARTMENT OF TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL, FOR A
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING
THE PUBLIC UTILITIES GENERAL MANAGER TO
EXECUTE DOCUMENTS AND TAKE ANY AND ALL
ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the California Environmental Protection
Agency, Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), has made
funds available to the City of Anaheim (City) to implement a
technology transfer pilot program (Program); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Program is to develop and
implement a system to effectively transfer information on waste
reduction, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and
environmental management between businesses in the City; and
WHEREAS, the Program will create a partnership between
industry and government with the City serving as a facilitator
for the transfer of information between businesses; and
WHEREAS, the procedures established by DTSC require a
grant recipient to certify, by resolution, acceptance of a grant
under the Program; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept a grant from and
enter into an agreement with DTSC for development of a technology
transfer program entitled "ENVIRO-Link" for the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. Acceptance by the city of a grant from the California
Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Toxic Substances
Control, in the amount of $25,000 for ENVIRO-Link is hereby
authorized and approved.
2. The Public Utilities General Manager is hereby
authorized and empowered, on behalf of the City of Anaheim, to
execute the Grant Award agreement and any related documents for
the Program and take any and all actions necessary to implement
the Program.
3. The City Council hereby declares that should any
portion of this Resolution be declared for reason to be invalid,
it is the intent of the City Council that it would have adopted
all other portions of this Resolution independent of the
elimination herefrom of any portion as may be declared invalid.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
