AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REPEALING
SECTIONS 1.04.960, 1.04.970, 1.04.980 AND 1.04.990 OF
CHAPTER 1.04 OF TITLE 1 RELATING TO THE SENIOR
CITIZEN COMMISSION AND AMENDING SECTION
13.04.010 AND SECTION 13.04.030 OF CHAPTER 13.04 OF
TITLE 13 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING
TO THE MEMBERSHIP AND DUTIES OF THE PARKS AND
RECREATION COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM HEREBY ORDAINS
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Sections 1.04.960, 1.04.970, 1.04.980 and 1.04.990 of Chapters 1.04 of Title
1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby, repealed.in its entirety, and that
the Senior Citizen Commission is hereby dissolved.
SECTION 2.
That a new subsection .025 be, and the same is hereby added to Section 13.04.010
of Chapter 13.04 of Title 1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to read as follows:
".025 Senior Citizen Representative. At least one member of the Parks and Recreation
Commission shall be sixty years of age or older."
SECTION 3.
That a new 13.04.035 be, and the same is hereby added to Chapter 13.04 of Title
1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code to read as follows:
"13.04.035 Senior Citizen Advisory Subcommittee.
.010 There shall be a three (3) member Senior Citizen Advisory Subcommittee
of the Parks and Recreation Commission that shall advise the Commission as to the needs of the
senior citizens within the community and make recommendations to the Commission of possible
City or community projects which would benefit Anaheim senior citizens.
.010 The Subcommittee shall consist of one (1) member of the Commission,
who shall be sixty years of age or older and who shall be designated Chairman of the
Subcommittee, and two (2) Anaheim residents who are sixty years of age or older. The initial
membership shall, as its resident members, include any person who was a member of the Senior
Citizen Commission on the effective date of the dissolution of such commission who desires to
sit as a member of the Subcommittee.

SECTION 4. SEVERABILITY
The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby declares that should any section,
paragraph, sentence or word of this ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be declared for any
reason to be invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have passed all other portions of
this ordinance independent of the elimination herefrom of any such portion as may be declared
invalid.
SECTION 5. SAVINGS CLAUSE
Neither the adoption of this ordinance nor the repeal of any other ordinance of this
City shall in any manner affect the prosecution for violations of ordinances, which violations
were committed prior to the effective date hereof, nor be construed as a waiver of any license or
penalty or the penal provisions applicable to any violation thereof. The provisions of this
ordinance, insofar as they are substantially the same as ordinance provisions previously adopted
by the City relating to the same subject matter, shall be construed as restatements and
continuations, and not as new enactments.

City Council of the City of Anaheim held on the 27th day of July , 2010, and
thereafter passed and adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 24thday of
August , 2010, by the following roll call vote:
