A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM REGARDING PERMIT - ELIGIBLE PARKING
DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION FOR CONVENTION CENTER
PERMIT AREAS 1 AND 2
WHEREAS, Section 14.32.450 of Chapter 14.32 of Title 14 of the Anaheim
Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to, by resolution, designate any streets, or portions
thereof, as "Permit Parking Only" streets; and
WHEREAS, the Council Policy 5.7 sets forth a process to create a Permit - Eligible
Parking District, and, following approval of the District, establishing a process enabling individual
streets within the identified District boundary to request implementation of permit parking; and
WHEREAS, prior to the adoption of Council Policy 5.7 relating to Permit Parking,
two Permit- Eligible Parking Districts were created in 1980 and 1983 known as Convention Center
Permit Area No. 1 and Convention Center Permit Area No. 2; and
WHEREAS, since their creation, these two Permit - Eligible Parking District have been
administered and enforced by the Anaheim Convention Center; and
WHEREAS, the permits issued for these two Permit- Eligible Parking Districts are
free of charge to those residents without limitation; and
WHEREAS, it is now desirable that Public Works be responsible for the
administration of Convention Center Permit Area No. l and Convention Center Permit Area No.2
and the Police Department and Code Enforcement Division be responsible for the enforcement of
Convention Center Pen Areas No. 1 and 2; and
WHEREAS, the Convention Center proposes to reimburse the parking permit fees
for these two Permit- Eligible Parking Districts to the Public Works Department, in order for the
Pen Parking pen in Convention Center Areas No. 1 and 2 to remain at no cost to the
residents; and
WHEREAS, Pen Parking Districts Convention Center Areas No. 1 and
2 shall be subject to all provisions Anaheim Municipal Code Section 14.32.450.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the Anaheim Public Works Department be responsible for the administration of
Permit- Eligible Parking Districts Convention Center Areas No. l and 2; and that the Anaheim Police
Department and Anaheim Code Enforcement Division be responsible for the enforcement of the
Permit- Eligible Parking Districts Convention Center Areas No.1 and 2.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Convention Center shall reimburse to the
Anaheim Public Works Department the parking permit fees for Permit - Eligible Parking Districts
Convention Center Areas No. 1 and 2.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim this 28th day of september , 2010, by the following roll -call vote:
