A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
ADJUSTING RATES OF COMPENSATION FOR CLASSIFICATIONS
DESIGNATED AS EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT AND SUPERSEDING
RESOLUTION NO 92R-19 AND AMENDMENTS THERETO
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated
June 13, 2000, that the need exists to adjust rates of compensation for classifications
designated as Executive Management effective June 23, 2000; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to supersede Resolution No. 92R-19
and amendments thereto; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that adjusting rates of
compensation for classifications designated as Executive Management is in the best interests of
the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
follows:
Section 1.
The basic compensation plan for all officers and employees of the City of Anaheim
designated as Executive Management who are now employed or will in the future be employed
in any of the classifications listed below shall be allocated to the following salary ranges
effective June 23, 2000:

Section 2.
Classifications listed in Section 1 of this Resolution shall be allocated to salary ranges
providing annual compensation according to the structure listed below:

Section 3.
For the classifications of Chief of Police and Fire Chief, the statutorily required employee
Public Employees Retirement System ("PERS") pension contributions shall be paid by the City
of Anaheim as employee paid member contributions. For the purpose of Internal Revenue
Code Section 414(h)(2), these contributions shall be considered a reduction in salary and shall
be included in an employee's wages for the purpose of PERS reportable compensation,
overtime calculations, and all other purposes with the exception of state and federal income tax
withholding and reporting, and the cash out of accumulated leave balances.
For all other Executive Management classifications, effective June 23, 2000, 3.5% of the
statutorily required employee PERS pension contributions shall be paid by the City of Anaheim
as employer paid member contributions in accordance with Government Code Section 20691.
The remaining percent of the statutorily required employee PERS pension contributions shall be
paid by the City of Anaheim as employee paid member contributions. For the purpose of
Internal Revenue Code Section 414(h)(2), these contributions shall be considered a reduction in
salary and shall be included in an employee's wages for the purpose of PERS reportable
compensation, overtime calculations, and all other purposes with the exception of state and
federal income tax withholding.
Effective June 22, 2001, the entire statutorily required employee PERS pension
contributions shall be paid by the City of Anaheim as employer paid member contributions in
accordance with Government Code Section 20691.
Section 4.
Employees hired to work on a part-time basis in any of the classifications listed in
Section 1 of this Resolution shall be compensated at the rate of pay established for the full-time
classification.
Section 5.
The letter "X" preceding a salary range number indicates that employees working in that
job class are exempt from overtime provisions as provided in Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay.

Section 6.
The regular hourly rate of pay for employees working in job classes listed in this
Resolution shall be computed as provided in Personnel Rule 5, Hours of Work and Pay Day.
Section 7.
All classifications listed under Section 1 of this Resolution plus City Council Members,
are eligible to receive either a City-owned vehicle or an automobile allowance of $219.23 per
biweekly pay period.
Section 8.
The provisions of this Resolution shall supersede Resolution No. 92R-19 and
amendments thereto.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this Resolution shall be June 23,
2000.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council this
