4. D.T.C.C. ART GALLERY SUBCOMMITTEE Chair Larsen reported that the subcommittee will be meeting on
Tuesday. Commissioner Castillo indicated that since she works during the day, lunch meetings would be best for
her.
5. ART FACILITIES SUBCOMMITTEE Commissioner Santoianni reported that they had two meetings since the last
commission meeting. Commissioner Deneau reported that they hope to have their draft ready soon and
Commissioner Jabbar will review it before it's presented to the full commission.
Chair Larsen mentioned the email she sent to the commissioners about a possible grant opportunity that she
thought would tie in with the work the subcommittee has been doing. She also said that she spoke with both Brad
Hobson from Community Development and Peter Comisky about having a community gallery workspace so she
also forwarded the email to both of them.
6. INFORMATION ITEMS
A. Commissioner Castillo: Discussed her attempts to acquire a venue for a temporary gallery. She spoke with
Shelly from the Downtown Anaheim Association who again mentioned an Art Walk that she would like to have
in place in the summer months and perhaps tie in with the Farmers' Market day. She also contacted the
Redevelopment Agency regarding the use of space they have available for a temporary gallery and is waiting
for a response after Maryann Long's vacation. She mentioned providing space for the Anaheim Art
Association there so there would be another entity for the Art Walk. She also discussed the web site they had
previously discussed and said there would be a cost associated with it to get a site that was worthwhile,
approximately $100 for a template and $7 per month
B. Commissioner Deneau: Reported that he attended the City Council meeting to speak about the naming of the
park on West Street; City Council agreed on Founders Park but the Mayor asked for background from staff
regarding naming of parks in general.
