1.CALL TO ORDER The meetingof the Cultural and Heritage Commission was called to
order by Chair Larsenat 6:35p.m.

COMMUNICATION:
3.INTRODUCTION OFCommissioner Castillo introduced herself and shared some background

4.APPROVAL OF MINUTES:Commissioner Deneaumade a motion to approve theminutes for the
October 15, 2009meeting;Commissioner Santoiannimade a second
and the motion passed.
5.VICE-CHAIR NOMINATIONS/Chair Larsen nominated Commissioner Maya for the vice-chair position,
ELECTION:and he accepted the nomination. Commissioner Santoianni seconded
the motion and it passed unanimously.
6.D.T.C.C. ART GALLERYChair Larsen reported that she went to the last City Council meeting
SUB-COMMITTEE:representing the Commission to ask for funding to help pay for gallery
receptions. Commissioner Maya provided some background for
Commissioner Castillo about the sub-committee and the request for
funds and stated that he felt the Mayor was very receptive to the request.
Chair Larsen added that she followed up with an email to the Mayor and
he requested that she formulate a budget and make a specific monetary
request.Commissioner Deneau suggested making a sponsorship
packet that people can use to make donations towards gallery receptions
and contacting the Chamber of Commerce as a means to get them out to
possible donors.
7.ART FACILITIES SUB-COMMITTEE:Commissioner Deneau reported thatthey are still working on the project
and hope to have something available for the commissioners in January.
He provided some background information on the project to update
Commissioner Castillo.

B.Commissioner Deneau:Commissioner Deneau reported that the Anaheim Ballet will be having a

E.Chair Larsen:Chair Larsenasked the Commissioners to consider volunteering some
time to work in the Arts Council’sArt Activity Booth at the Nutcracker

Tree Lighting event in downtown Anaheim on Saturday, December 5
from Noon to 5:45 p.m. It was indicated that the Arts Council is looking
for volunteers and the shifts are approximately two hours long. She also
discussed a newspaper clipping she brought about the new Napoleon
Exhibit at the Muzeo.
F.Commissioner Maya:Commissioner Maya reported that he attended an arts show Friday and
Saturday displaying work from approximately seven artists in a variety of
mediums.
G.Commissioner Santoianni:None.
H.Staff:Sjany announced that two tree lighting ceremonieswill be hosted in

Anaheim; one on Friday, December 4at Twila Reid Park coordinated by
the West Anaheim Neighborhood Development Council, and the
th
Nutcracker Tree Lighting and festivities on Saturday, December 5.She
also reminded the Commissioners that there will not be a meeting in
December.
9.NEXT MEETINGThe next meeting will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010,at 6:30
p.m. at the Downtown Community Center, 250 E. Center Street,
Anaheim.
