at 6:35 p.m.
2. SCHEDULED PRESENTATION_ Dorothy Rose, Orange County (OC) Symphony, presented information about
the history of the OC Symphony and about their upcoming "A Gift of light" celebration being held at the Heritage
Forum, 201 E. Broadway in Anaheim, on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 7;30 p.m. A pre - concert event is also

3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None.
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Chair Larsen noted one correction to the minutes. In Agenda Item 4, in the fourth
line, 'Circus' should be replaced by 'Surface.' Commissioner Maya made a motion to approve the minutes for the
September 16, 2010 Cultural and Heritage Commission meeting with that correction; Commissioner Castillo
made a second and the motion passed.
5. D.T.C.C. ART GALLERY SUBCOMMITTEE: Commissioner Maya introduced a discussion of the use of display
cases in branch libraries and other available regional spaces as 'satellite' galleries. After discussion, Commis-
sioner Maya made a motion to rename the `DTCC Gallery Subcommittee' to the 'Galleries Subcommittee.'
Commissioner Deneau made a second and the motion passed. The Commissioners discussed the increasing
responsibilities associated with coordinating the receptions and other community events. After discussion,
Commissioner Deneau made a motion to form a separate new'Events Subcommittee' to handle those duties.
Commissioner Jabbar made a second and the motion passed.
Chair Larsen reported she has received many compliments on the "Viva de los Muertos" exhibit on behalf of the
Commission. She commented that having the reception immediately after the Anaheim Arts Council's general
meeting featuring Peter Perez and a cultural craft workshop added to the event and was a very good collabora-
tion. Chair Larsen also reported confirmation from Peter Comiskey with the Downtown Association that the
Promenade Gallery "Dia de los Muertos" Community Alter would be on exhibit until early November. Commis-
sioner Castillo reported on the installation of the new mural by artist Michael Owen in the stairwell of the CIM
building (near Sandella's restaurant) facing Anaheim Boulevard. The project came together very quickly the
second week of September. CIM funded the project and was very supportive. The artist has created eight addi-
tional panels for the beacon structure located on top of the building. CIM is also considering an `Artist in Resi-
dence' which would facilitate ongoing repair and maintenance of the art located throughout their properties. The
panels are currently in Los Angeles being digitized and should be installed in the near future. Commissioner
Maya commented that next year the Galleries Subcommittee should look at changing the presentation of the cur-
rent exhibit at the DTCC Gallery away from the same theme, perhaps transitioning it to a new location next year.
5. ART FACILITIES SUBCOMMITTEE: Commissioner Deneau reported that Chair Larsen and himself met with
Community Services Director Terry Lowe, Community Services Manager Lynn Smith, and Community Services
