A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
BETVVEEN THE ANAHEIM POLICE ASSOCIATION AND
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM.
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director met and conferred with officials and
employee representatives of the Anaheim Police Association, concerning a Letter of
Understanding that recommends alternative plans to the Employee/City Medical Plan as
required by Section 59.013 of the Memorandum of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Police Association is in agreement with the recommendation
contained in said Letter of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated July 18, 1996
between the parties has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best
interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that
the Letter of Understanding dated July 18, 1996 between the Anaheim Police Association and
the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is
hereby approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim this 6tb. day of August, 1996.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
between the
ANAHEIM POLICE ASSOCIATION
and the CITY OF ANAHEIM
The Anaheim Police Association (APA), and the City of Anaheim (CITY), have met and
conferred, and have reached the following Agreement:
1. The APA and CITY agree that the health plans recommended by the Joint
Committee on Medical Programs to the City Manager and the City Council on May 23, 1996,
are acceptable alternative plans to the Employee/City Medical Plan as required by the Letter
of Understanding between APA and CITY dated August 15, 1994. The recommended plan
structure will be implemented effective January 1, 1997, for all active and retired employees.
2. APA and CITY agree to amend Section 59.012 of the Memorandum of
Understanding between the APA and CITY to read as follows:
59.012 ANAHEIM shall contribute towards the monthly cost of health coverage
to the various medical plans as follows:
Employeo Modical Plan not to exoeod 110% of Kaiser monthly
rate through Docombor 31, 1996.
All Othor Health Plan~ not to exoood 100% of Kaiser monthly
rate through July 9, 1998.
Approved lIMO Plans not to exceed '100% of the Kaiser
monthly rate through July 9, '1998.
All other liealth Plans not to exceed '1'10% of the Kaiser
monthly rate through July 9, '1998.
