ORDINANCE NO, 230.
An ordinance providing for the issuing
of bonds of the City of Anaheim in
the sum of ninety-eight thousand five
hundred dollars for the purpose of
paying the cost of certain municipal
improvements in and for saidcity,
to -wit: for the acquisition of a sew.
er farm and the constructionof a
sewer system; and the acquisition and
cons'truc'tion of additions to the City
Electric Light Plant.
Whereas, the Board of Trusteesof
the City of Anaheim, at its meeting
held on the 19th day of December1910
,
by a vote of two-thirds of all its
members, duly passed and adopted a
resolution determining that the public
interest and necessity demanded the
acquisition, construction and completion
Of certain municipal improvements in
and for said City, to

and all other necessary materials there-
for and all necessary appliances with

of laying said sewer pipes and construct-
ing, installing and establishing said se-
wer system, and all incidental expenses
connected therewith, and that the esti-
mated cost of said municipal improve-
ment was ninety thousand dollars, and
that such cost was and will be too
great to be paid out of the ordinary an-
nual income and revenue of said City.
Second. The acquisition and construc-
tion of additions to the City Paactr•ic
Light Plant, including the acquisition
and installation of au engine, gehera-
tor, excitor, switch board and other
eleetric light appliances, and addition to
the Municrl t Electric Light and beater
Works building, and that the estimated
cost of said municipal improvement was
eight thousand five hundred dollars, and
that such cost was and will be too
great to be paid out of the ordinary an-
nual income and revenue of said City
And whereas, tlae President of the
Board of Trustees of said City did, on
the 19th day of December, 1910, duly
and legally approve said resolution of
said Board of Trustees; and
Whereas, said resolution was duly pub-
lished on the 22d day of December, 1910,
in the Anaheim Gazette, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation printed and
Published in said City of Anahein,; and
Whereas, the said Board of Trustees
did thereafter, at its meeting held on
the lzth day of January, 1911,.by a vote
Of two-thirds of all its members, dui;;
pass and adopt an ordinance cailing a
special election in said City of Anaheim,
to be held on the 30th day of January,
1911 for the purpose of submitting and
submitting to the qualified voters of said
City the following propositions for in-
curring indebtedness by said City, to -
wit:
I. The proposition to incur a bond-
ed indebtedness of ninety thousand dol-
larsin Gold Coin of the Lnited States
of America, for the purpose of construct-
ing r sewer system for the said City,
including the acquisition of a sewer farm
and the right of way thereto for an
outfall sewer, the acquisition of a nap-
tic tank., sewer ,pipes, man holes, hand
holes, flush tanks and all other neces-
sary materials therefor and all neces-
sary appliances es Girth �rkrich to equip and
operate said sewer system, including all
necessary expense or laying sa.d starer
Pipes and constructing installing and
establishing said sewer system, and all
incidental expenses connected there-
with.
2. The proposition to incur a bonded
indebtedness of eight thousand five
hundred dollars in Gold Coin of the Uni-
ted States of America, for the purpose
Of the acquisition and construction of
additions to the City Electric Light
Plant, including the acquisition and in-
stallation of an engine, generator, ex-
citor, switch board and other electric
'ight appliances, and addition to the
Munici_al '+-lectric Light and Water
Works Building.
Said ordinance is numbered 229 and
had theretofore been duly introduced at
a regular meeting of said Board of
Trustees held on the 22d day of De -

Board of Trustees on the 12th day of
January, 1911; and

Whereas, all andsingular the provis-
ions of an Act of the Legislature of the
State of California, entitled "An Act au-
thorizing the incurring of indebtedness
by cities, towns and municipal corpora-
tions for municipal improvements, and
regulating the acquisition, construction
and completion thereof," which became
a law February 25th, 1901, and all acts
supplementary thereto and amendatory
thereof, and the law and the ordinan-
ces of said City have been fully com-
plied with so as to authorize the issu-
ance of said bonds; now therefore,
The Board of Trustees of the City
of Anaheim do ordain as follows:
Section 1. That bonds of the City
of Anaheim in the sum of ninety-eight
thousand five hundred dollars be issued
in accordance with the provisions of the
Act of the Legislature of the State of
California, entitled, "An Act authoriz-
ing the incurring of indebtedness by
cities, towns and municipal corporations
for municipal improvements and regu-
lating the acquisition, construction and
completion thereof," which became a
law February 25th, 1901, and all acts
supplementary thereto and amendatory
thereof, and with the ordinances of
said City.
That said bonds shall be negotiable
in form and shall be issued in two
series. One series shall be one hund-
red and twenty (120) in number, at
eighty
Of which shall be of the denominion
of one thousand dollars each and forty
of which shall be of the denomination
of two hundred and fifty dollars each,
and shall be numbered consecutively
from one to one hundred and twenty,
both inclusive. The other of said ser-
ies shall be forty in number of the de-
nomination of two hundred and twelve
50-100 dollars each, and shall be num-
bered consecutively from one to forty,
both inclusive. The principal and inter-
est ort said bonds shall be payable in
Gold Coin of the United States of
America; that they shall be dated April
19t, 1911, and shall bear interest at the
rate of five per cent per annum, pay-
able semi-annually on the first day of
April and first day of October of each
and every year.
The bonds in each series shall be
paid in the order of their numbers con-
secutively in the manner following: of
the series of one hundred and twenty
bonds aforesaid, two of one thousand
dollars each and one of two hundred
and fifty dollars shall be paid on the
Ist day of April, 1912, and two of said
onethousand dollar bonds and one of

all sums unpaid at such date.

City Treasurer of said City of Anaheim,

This bond is issued in pursuance of
the provisions of an Act of the Leg-
islature of the State of California, en-
ti±led "An Act authorizing the incurr-
ing of indebtedness by cities, tons and

prove nients, and regulating the acquisi-
tion, construction and completion there-
of," which became a law February 25th,
1901, and all acts supplementary thereto
and amendatory thereof.
It is further certified that all the re-
quirements of law and of the or ain-
a.nces of the City of Anaheim have been
fully complied with by the proper offi-
cers for the issuing of this bond; that
this issue of bonds has been authorized
by the vote of two-thirds of all voters
voting on the question of such issue at
a special election duly and regularly call-
pality, to -wit: tale President of the
Board of Trustees of said City of Ana-
heim, and also by the Treasurer of said
City, and to be countersigned by the
Clerk of said City, and the corporate
seal of said City to be affixed thereto;
and said City has also caused the cou-
pons thereto attached to be numbered
consecutively and signed by the Trea-
surer of said City of Anaheim.

heim, being the executive of the muni-
cipality, and the City Treasurer of said
City, are herebv authorized and direct-
ed to sign all the bonds herein provided
for, and the City Clerk of said City is
hereby authorized and directed to coun-
tersign the same and affix the corpor-
ate seal of the City of Anaheim there-
to, and the City Treasurer of said City
is hereby authorized and directed to
sign the interest coupons of said bonds
by having his name printed or litho-
graphed thereon; and said bonds shall be
delivered by said City Clerk- to said
City Treasurer in such amounts as the
said Board of Trustees of said City may
from time to time determine.
Sec. 4. That for the purpose of pay-
ing the principal and interest on said

City shall, at the time of fixing the gen-
eral tax levyand in the manner for
such general tax levy provided, levy and
collect annually each year until said.

Sec. 5. The series of one hundred
and twenty bonds first herein provided
for, shall be kno-,vn and designated as
Sewer Construction Bonds, and the pro-
ceeds of the sale thereof shall be plac-
ed in the Treasury of said City to the
credit of a fund to be known as "Sewer
Construction Fund," and the same shall
be applied exclusively to the construc-
tion of a sorer system for said City.
The series of forty bonds secondly
herein provided for, shall be known and
designated as Electric Light Plant
Bonds, and the proceeds of the sale
thereof shall be placed in the Treasury
of said City to the credit of a fund to
be known as "Electric Liy(ht Plant
Fund," and the same shall be applied
exclusively to the acquisition and con-
struction of additions to the City Elec-
tric Light Plant.
Sec. 6. The City Clerk shall certify
to the passage of this ordinance and
cause the same to be published once in
the Anaheim Gazette, a weekly news-
paper of general circulation printed and
published in said City of Anaheim, and
thereupon and thereafter it shall be in
full force and effect.

The Board of Trustees of the Oity of Anaheim do ordain as fol—

Section 1. That bonds of the city of Anaheim in the :gum of
ninety—might thousand five hundred dollars be issued in accordance
the provisions of the Act of the. Legislature of the State of
California, entitled "Ari Act authorizing the incurring of Indebted—
ness by cities, towns and raunicipa_l corporations for municipal im—

acts supplementary thereto and. amendatory thereof, and with the
