WHEREAS, a special election was held (
the 27th day of January, 1914, in accordan-
dwith the provisions and requirements of C

WHEREAS, a special election was held on
the 27th day of January, 1914, in accordance

dinaance No. 269 of said city, calling, provid-
ing for and giving notice of such election,
reference to said ordinance for further par-
ticulars being here made; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined by a
resolution of the Board of Trustees of the
City of Anaheim, adopted on the 2nd day of
February, 1914, reference thereto for further
particulars being here made, that at said
special election more than two-thirds of the
votes cast thereat were cast and counted as
being in favor of and authorizing the in-
curring of a bonded indebtedness of said city
for the purpose and to the amount therein
stated, to -wit: A bonded indebtedness in the
sum of $7,000.00 for the purpose of the acqui-
sition of fire apparatus for said city, which
said reso'ution was ratified and confirmed by
a resolution of said Board of Trustees, adopt-
ed on the 13th day of February, 1914.
NOW, 'THEREFORE, be it ordained by
the Board of, Trustees of the City of Ana-
heim :
Section T. That bonds of the City of Ana-
heim, State of California, will be issued in
accordance with the result of the special elec-
tion held in said city on the 27th day of
lanuary, 1914• and in. compliance with the
Statutes of the State of California and the
Ordinances of said city to the amount of
$7,000.00 for the acquisition of fire apparatus
for said city; that said bonds shall be called
"Fire Apparatus -Bonds" and shall be forty
(40) in number and shall be numbered from
one to forty inclusive, and shall be payable
one hundred and seventy-five dollars ($175.00)
thereof one year from the date of said bonds,
beginning with the lowest number and one
hundred seventy-five dollars ($>g5.00) thereof
of the next higher number on the same day
of each succeeding year until all of said bonds

has been made as required by the Consti-
tution and Statutes of said state for the
collection of an annual tax sufficient to
pay the interest on this bond as it falls
due, and also provision to constitute a
sinking fund for the payment of the prin-
cipal of this bond on or before maturity.
The full faith and credit of said city are
hereby pledged for the punctual payment
of the principal and interest of this bond.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, said City
of Anaheim has caused this bond to be
executed under its corporate seal, signed
by the President of its Board of Trustees
and Treasurer, and countersigned --by its
City Clerk, and has c4used the interest
coupons hereto attached' to be signed by
its Treasurer, and this bond to be dated
the 15th day of April, 1911.

Section 3. Interest coupons shall be at-
tached to each bond to the number of twice
the number of years such bond will run until
maturity thereof; and each of said coupons
shall be in the amount of five and 25-100 ($5.25)
dollars, which sum will be the amount of in-
terest due on each of such bonds for six
months. Each coupon shall be numbered
from one upwards consecutively and shall
state the number of the bond to which it is
attached; such coupons s11all be signed by the
Treasurer of said city by his lithographed or
engraved signature and shall be substantially
in the following form:

Section 4. For the purpose of paying the
principal and interest of said bonds, the Board
of Trustees of the City of Anaheim shall, at
the time of fixing the general tax levy, and
in the manner for such general tax levy pro-
vided, levy and collect for the fund herein-
after provided for annually each year until
such bonds are paid or until there shall be a
sum in the treasury of said city set apart for
that purpose sufficient to meet all sums be-
coming due for the principal and interest on
all said bonds, taxes sufficient to pay the an-
nual interest on said bonds and also such part
of the principal thereof as shall become due
before the time for fixing the next
general tax levy Said taxes shall be
in addition to all other taxes levied
for municipal purposes and shall
be collected at the same time and in the same
manner as other municipal taxes are collected,
and as collected shall be forthwith paid into
the fund for which the same was levied and
collected; that the fund into which the taxes
co'lected to pay the principal and interest of
the said bonds shall be paid, is hereby desig-
nated as "Fire Apparatus Bond Interest and
Redemption Fund. 1914," and the sums to be
come due for principal and interest on said
bonds shall be paid from such fund.
Section 5. The Board of Trustees of the
City of Anaheim ,hall sell said bonds at such
times and in such amounts as it may deter-
mine and the proceeds arising from any such
sale shall be placed in the treasury of the
City of Anaheim to the credit of the .said
"Fire Apparatus Bond Interest and Redemp-
tion Fund, 1914.1' which fund is hereby creat-
ed and such proceeds shall be used exclu-
sively for the purpose for which said bonds
were issued.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to
the passage of this Ordinance and cause the
same to be published once in The Orange
Comity Plain Dealer, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation printed and published in
the said City of Anaheim and thirty days
from and after its final passage it shall take
effect and be in full force.
I, Edward B. Merritt, Clerk of the City of
Anaheim. do hereby certify that the foregoing
Ordinance was introduced at a meeting of the
P,oard of Trustees of the City of Anaheim
held on the 13th day of February, 1914, and
that it was drily passed and adopted at a regu-
lar meeting of the said Board of Trustees
held on the 26th day of February, 1914, and
that the same was passed and adopted by the
following vote:
Ayes—Trustees Nebelung, Stark, Cook and
Gates.
Noes—Trustees, none:, -
Absent—Trustee Hamler.
