Section 2, That section 3 of said Ordinance
No. 237 be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Section 3. It shall be unlawful for any per-
son, firm or corporation to do, or cause to be
:done, or to construct or cause to be construct-
ed, or to change or alter any plumbing or
house drainage affecting the sanitary condi-
tion of any house, structure or building in the
.-City of Anaheim, or to do or cause to be
done any gas fitting, or to change or alter any
gas -fitting or fittings therein without having
first obtained a permit therefor from the
plumbing inspector of said city."
Section 3. That section 4 of said Ordinance
No. 237 be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 4. Any person, firm or corpora -
'tion desiring a permit to do any plumbing or
,to construct any house drainage affecting the
�sgnitary condition of any house or building in
14he city of Anaheim, or to make any con-
nection with any public sewer of said city, or
.to make any alteration thereof, or to install
;any gas -pipe or gas -fitting therein shall make
,application in writing to the Plumbing In
Spector for a permit to do so, such application
is all set forth the number of outlets and fix-
tures to be installed and the amount and
(character of the work to be done, and if it
appears therefrom that the work proposed to
be done is to be done in accordance with the
rules, regulations and specifications contained
in this Ordinance, and that the Board of Trus-
tees of said city has caused to be issued for
Vhe building where such work is proposed to
done, a permit as required by the
Ordinances of said city, then and not oth
erwise the Plumbing Inspector shall issue
a permit for such work upon the payment to
him of the following fees: If the permit is-
sued is for installation or alteration of plumb-
ing or house drainage as follows, towit:
A fee of fifty cents, ($.50) for such, permit,
and in addition thereto, fifteen cents ($35) for
each outlet, not exceeding twenty-five out -
lists, proposed to be roughed in or provided
;for in the work to be done under said permit,
and ten cents ($ 10) additional for each outlet
Pin excess of twenty-five outlets; provided
further, that said Plumbing Inspector shall
charge and collect the sum of two dollars and
fifty cents ($2.50) for the inspection of any
connection proposed to be mad%to a public
sewer in said city. If the permit issued is for
the installation of gas pipe or gas fitting or
'for any alteration thereof, as follows, to -wit:
A fee of one dollar ($1.00) for each permit and
in addition thereto, five cents l$.05) for each
opening, including fume vent. Said Plumb-
ing Inspector may retain all of such fees as
compensation for the performance of his du-
ties as p,escribed in this Ordinance, except
that for his services in inspecting any connec-
tion or proposed connection with a public
sewer, he shall be allowed the sum of one
j dollar ($1.00) only, and the excess of said
amount collected by him shall be paid to the
City Clerk of the said City of Anaheim, at the
time and manner provided by law, and
shall be placed to the credit of the general
fund of said city.
Notwithstanding the provisions herein
contained, no permit will be deemed neces-
sary in the case of any repairinit, defined as
follows: The stopping of leaks in drain, soil,
waste or vent pipes; provided, however, that
should any trap, drain, soil, waste or vent pipe
be or become defective and it becomes nec-
essary to remove or replace the same with
new material in any part or parts, the same
shall be considered as new work and a per-
mit shall be procured as above required, and
inspection made as herein provided. Pro-
vided turther, that for each additional inspec-
tion rendered necessary by reason of defective
work, the Plumbing Inspector shall receive
an additional fee of one dollar ($1.00) to be
paid prior to the issuing of said certificate of
inspection, in the same manner as other fees
are paid under the provisions of this Ordi-
nance."
Section 4. That Section 5 of said Ordinance
No. 237, be and the same is hereby amended
to read as follows, to -wit:
Section 5. All work done under permit
Shall be subject to inspection, and notice must
be given in writing to the Plumbing Inspector
by the person, firm or corporation doing said
work, or causing the same to be done, imme-
diately after said work has been completed.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Ana-

water test. All the necessary tools and labor
and assistance for such test shall he furnished
by the person, firm or corporation having
control of or in charge of such work. When,
upon examination by. the inspector, if it ap-
pears that any such work is defective, either
in the construction or material thereof, the
same shall be removed or repaired to con-
form to the regulations set forth in this Ordi-
nance.
