semination of local and telegraphic news and intelligence of a general char-
acter, having a bona fide subscription list of paying subscribers; that at all
said times said newspaper had been established, printed and published in the
said City of Anaheim, in said County and State at regular intervals for more

The Board of Ti ustees of the City of
Ananeim uo ordain as follows:

Secuon 2. It sna11 be unlawful for
any person, firm or corporation, to make
or procure for the purpose or sale, sell,
offer or e:_pose for sale, witnin the City
of Anaheim, State of California, bread,
the loaf or loaves of which is, ar are, not
of standard weight, as provided in Sec-
tion 1 of this Ordinance.
Section 3. Every person, firm or cor-
porauon, who shall make, or procure for
cne purpose of sale, sell, offer or expose
for sale, any bread in said City of Ana-
iwiln, whenever requested by a buyer of
bread, shall, in the presence of saia buy-
er, weight the loaf, or loaves, of bread.
�AIl inspections of the weight of bread
shall be made on the premises of the
maker or manufacturer, and all weight
of bread shall be determined by taking
an average weigLt of not less than twen-
ty loaves.
Section 4. The provisions of this Or-
dinance shall not apply to crackers,
pretzels, biscuits, buns, scones, rolls or
loaves of fancy bread, weighing less than
1-4 of a pound avoirdupois, or to what is
commonly known as stale bread, sold as
such; provided, .the seller shall, at the
time or sale, expressly state to the buy-
er that the bread so sold is stale bread.
Section a. Any person, firm or corpor-
ation, wno shall violate any of the pro-
visions of this Ordinance, shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof, shall pay a fine of not less than
.$'10.00, or be imprisoned in thp, City Jail
nut more than 10 day=s.
Section 6. If any section, sub -section,
sentenoe, clause or phrase of this Or-
dinance, is for any reason held to be un-
constitutional such decision shall not af-
fect the validity of the remaining portions
of this Ordinance in that the Board of
Trustees of the City of Anaheim, declares
that it would have passed this Ordinance
and each section, sentence, clause and
phrase thereof irrespective of the fact
that any one or more of the sections,
sentences, clauses or phrases be declar-
ed unconstitutional.
Section 7. The City Clerk shall cer-
tify to the passage of this .ordinance and
cause the same to be published once in
the "Anaheim Gazette" a newspaper of
general circulation in the City of Ana-
heim, and the same shall take effect and
be in full force at the end of thirty days
from the publication thereof.
The foregoing ordinance is signed, ap-
proved and attested by me, this 9th day
of November, A. D. 1916.

The Board of Trustees of the City of��, do ordain as
I follows:
Section 1. The standard weight of all loaves of bread known as
milk, or white, rye or graham, and made or procured for the purpo
of sale, sold, offered for sale, or exposed for sale in the City
of Anaheim, State of California, shall be 12 ounces, avoirdupois
net weight, when baked, or regular multiples of 12 ounces avoirdu-
pois net weight, when baked.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corpor-
ation, to make or procure for the purpose of sale, sell, offer or
expose for sale, within the City of Anaheim, State of California,
bread,A44 loaf or loaves Odle which is, or are, not of standard
weight, at provided in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
Section 3. Every person,irm or corporation, who shall make,
or procure for the purpose of sg1e, sell, offer or expose for sale
any bread in said City of T4s -mew, whenever requested by a buy -
or of bread, shall, in the presence of said buyer, weigh the loaf
or loaves, of bread. All inspections of the weight of bread shall
be made on the premises of the maker or manufacturer, and all
weight of bread shall be determined by taking an average weight
of not lass than twenty loaves.
Section 4. The provisions of this Ordinance shall not apply
