Trustees of the City of Anaheim do or-
dain as follows:
SECTION 1 That the Board of Trus-
tees of the City of Anaheim does hereby

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE AVVEXATION TO
SAID CITY OF ANAHEIM OF CERTAIN TERRITORY DESCRIBED AS *NORTH AND
WEST ADDITION," AND SETTING FORTH THE PRINCIPAL ACTS CONSTITUTING
THE PROCEFDINGS HAD RELATIVE THERETO.
WHEREAS, the Roard of Trustees of the City of Anaheim
did on the 4th day of January, 19230 receive a written petition
asking that certain territory situate in the County of Orange,
State of California, and contiguous to said City of Anaheim be
annexed to said city, and -which said territory is particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the monument -
ed center line of North Palm Street and the northerly line of
West Forth Street, extended westerly across said North Palm Street,
as shown ori a map of Anaheim Extension made by Wm. Hammel and
filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of Los
Angeles County, State of California; thence northerly along the
center line of North Palm Street and its extension northerly to
its intersection with the east line of Section Four (4), Township
Four (4) South, Range Ten (10) West, S. P. H. & X.; thence north-

WHEREAS, said legislative body did, on the said 19th

proposed to be annexed, and which is hereinbefore described, the
number of votes cast in favor of such annexation and the number
of votes cast therein against such annexation, and

Anahei*, which is the legislative body of said city, did find
the total number of votes cast at said special election in the
territory herginbefore described, to be 3d , and the total
number of votes cast thereat in favor of the annexation of the
hereinbefore described territory in the City of Anaheim 4t o be

result to be that a majority of the votes cast at said special
election were in favor of the said annexation, and did, on the
said 19th day of February, 1923, pass and adopt a resolution

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Trustees of the City of
Aheim do ordain as follows:

SECTION 1. That the Board of Trustees of the City of
AnOeim does hereby approve of the annexation to and the incor-
poration in the City of Anaheim of that certain territory which
is hereinbefore more particularly described, and deos hereby
declare that from and after the date of the filing in the office
of the Secretary of State of the State of California of a certi-
fied copy of the record of the canvass of the returns of said

1 special election in such new territory which is hereinbefore
2 described, and a certified copy of this Ordinance, giving the
3 date of its passage, the annexation of such territory hereinbefore
4 described shall be deemed to be and shall be complete and thence -

6 be to all intents and purposes a part of the City of Anaheim,
7 except only that no property within such annexed territory shall
8 ever be taxed to pay any portion of any indebtedness or liability
9 of said City of Anaheim contracted prior or existing at the time
10 of such annexation, except as otherwise provided by law.
11 SECTION 2. The City. Clerk of the City of Anaheim is
12 hereby directed to make and certify under the seal of the City of
13 Anaheim, and transmit to the Secretary of State of the State of
14 California, a copy of the record of the canvass of the returns
15 of the election in such new territory which is hereinbefore
16 described, and a certified copy of this Ordinance, immediately
17 after the passage thereof.
18 SECTION 3. The City Clerk of the 0ity of Anaheim is
19 hereby directed to publish this Ordinance with the names of the
20 Trustees voting for or against the passage of the same, once, in
21 the "Anaheim Gazette", a newspaper of general circulation, print -
22 ed, published and circulated in the Cityof Anaheim.
